Lilac 'Katherine Havemeyer'

This time last year I was on a photoshoot for my book "Torie Jayne's Stylish Home Sewing" with photographer Sussie Bell. We filled vases with fresh Lilac to use as props and I fell in love with the beautiful smell, promising myself that I would have to grow lilac bushes in my new garden. By the time I arrived home I realised I already had Lilac bushes growing in my garden!
As whilst I was away the "unknown bushes" had started to bloom and were obviously Lilac bushes. A little research later and I determined that they were 'Katherine Havemeyer'...

"Lilac 'Katherine Havemeyer' has dense clusters of wonderfully scented, double, lavender blue flowers from purple buds in May and June and heart shaped, mid green leaves. This pretty, spreading lilac makes an excellent backdrop for a sunny, mixed or shrub border. Mulch each year in early spring and avoid pruning young plants, except to remove unproductive or diseased wood."
