April Writing Goals – Camp Nanowrimo Meets Distraction

It’s 9 pm on a Wednesday… and I’m thinking about the ambitious writing challenge that I set for myself this April. Camp NaNoWriMo – a self-paced writing challenge that I planned to use to jump-start a habit of daily fiction writing. I was thinking… say 500 words a day for the month of April?

Check out that humpback whale photo-bombing this sunset photo in Maui – distraction strikes again!

Yet all I’ve accomplished this evening is learning to play Flight of the Concords

Hurt Feelings on my ukulele. I am truly a master of procrastination because I feel great pride in my new found ukulele/rapping skills… so… I’ll have to make this post short and get those 500 words in before this evening is a bust!

500 words – it’s not too much to be honest. Just enough to get some story flowing. Perhaps breathe life into a couple characters that are collecting dust in the corners of my imagination. I honestly don’t have a big plan for this writing challenge, just the desire to create something.

Putting pen to paper is hard – yet I’ve proven in the past three months that I can make a habit of blogging daily. Writing gets easier with practice, and this April I will practice. Or… alternatively… I’ll become a ukulele-rap artist. Either way – something good is sure to come out of this month!
