Where to Stay in Melbourne :: The White Room

In our family of travelers, we each have a long list of places that we would love to visit, but one place that always hits the top of all of our lists is Australia. My son, Parker, has developed a habit of calling his brother and friends, “mate” all the time, and therefore thinks it would be cool to go where they use the word most frequently. My daughter thinks it would be life altering to see a real kangaroo, while my littlest just wants to find Nemo. My husband thinks it sounds exotic and a little wild, but my motivation is absolutely centered on the design culture. So many cool things seem to be coming from all different parts of Australia lately! (And the accent certainly doesn’t hurt, either!)

When I saw the latest from Etc Magazine with The White Room, I knew this is just where to stay in Melbourne and I was immediately intrigued. Decorated with a monochromatic industrial feel, the home is a converted garage that features beautiful french linens, a host of interesting vintage pieces, and enough space that you might just be tempted to book a couple weeks and use this as a starting point to your big Australian adventure. I know I am sold!
