We are not the first ones to adore the feed of Annyversary. Nike, Opening Ceremony and Nasty Gal are also fans of the oh so delicate colour palette this Swedish talent is sharing through Instagram. With a penchant for extremely huge objects paired with extremely tiny objects, it is no wonder this spatial, furniture and visual designer keeps the complexity of contrasts interesting.

I wanted to study architecture and design, but the creative possibilities of working with food grew on me very quickly.

How important is Instagram to your work?
I think Instagram played and is playing a huge role for me in terms of getting clients and publicity. More than I could even imagine. It’s a great way to show my work. I also like how it works like a newsletter. Lately my Instagram account has become almost exclusively a portfolio of mine.

As a designer, what are the greatest challenges about Instagram?
My biggest challenge would be to get use to the rapid spread of an image. The sharing without writing the source/creator is a bit sad. The source reference is just something people don’t care about or sometimes it just gets lost on its way. At the same time I’m not too annoyed by it – It’s my own choice to show it on the Internet.

How did you raise the follower amount?
I remember that it started with something small, like a repost/regram from another instagram account that had a lot of followers. Eventually people found the way to my account and it had just progressively increased. But it might also have something to do with 3D-arts blooming in the last year.

You are consistent throughout your account with the same color palette. Is this an important feature in order to gain followers?
Yes it’s consciously done but it also automatically becomes like that through the aesthetic of my work. They often tend to stay in similar color scheme. I believe that a coherent account feed is a rewarding way to quickly show who you are or what you want your Instagram to be presented as.

What is your best advice to people getting their work out there via Instagram?
Oh, I don’t really have a good advice but; have fun, be humble and respectful!
