Color and texture (trouverlesoleil)

For dinner this weekend I decorated my long farm table with pumpkins, flowers, and linens. My chippy tray has bits of blue that look so pretty with the other colors.

I like the bosc pears against this contemporary linen along with grey table runners, layered over the white linen table cloth.

This weekend we will be spending time together as a family and I'm SO looking forward to it. We will have a rich fall dinner and then curl up with some warm throws and watch a good movie.

My linens aren't always starched and pressed. If I leave them alone in a slightly crumpled state they are more appealing for casual dinning.

I'm not a huge fan of orange but will add a little pop here and there for the season. . These sunflowers were bought at my local market for just a few dollars. An usual color, and perfect in this silver pitcher.

Our local market has a wonderful assortment of gourds, mini pumpkins, orange, white, and Cinderella pumpkins but nothing is as fun as growing your own or going to your local pumpkin patch..
I like the varied shapes and colors in the fall garden.

"...what about this one?"

"...it's kinda muddy.."

"Let's get it.. mom will like it.."

"..these pumpkins scare me.. and they are moving around.." {poor Layla.;}

"..help.."

"... this might work.. I won't look"

I can tell it's fall when my urns look like they need a make over. Once brimming with trailing plants and flowers, this urn is ready for a change. I can't wait to get to the nursery!

I finished this small urn .. and hopefully the plants will hold up during the first freeze.

My friend Tina carries various urns here, at her on line store. They are very nice and I've used mine all over my home .. inside and out.

During the fall and winter I'll add more foliage and less flower and cross my fingers that it lives for a few months.
