Coca-Cola by OPI Swatches & Review

Releasing next month is the Coca-Cola by OPI collection. This limited edition collection is the first time the two companies have joined up. They created nine shades, which are all influenced by different soda flavors in the Coca-Cola family.

I was super excited about this collection because I am and always have been a HUGE Coke fan. I’ve been drinking Diet Coke, Coke, Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Sprite and Fanta Orange as long as I have been alive and they have been out. I must confess, I am not a huge Fanta Grape fan, or any grape soda for that matter -it’s a little too cough-drop-y for me. But I have fond memories of my lunch in high school which often only included an ice cold Cherry Coke and a Milky Way (healthy, I know).

My house is divided though. Mr. VV insists Pepsi (blech) is better. NO WAY. Give me a Cherry or Vanilla Coke any day of the week.

You’re So Vain-illa

You’re So Vain-illa (inspired by Vanilla Coke) is a nude vanilla creme shade. I am so completely taken aback by how much I like this color. I am pretty sure I don’t have anything else like it and it really does look just like the vanilla shade on the Coke label. This was two coats.

Sorry I’m Fizzy Today

Sorry I’m Fizzy Today (also inspired by Vanilla Coke) is a medium pink creme, slightly on the warmer side. I like this color but the formula was a wee bit uneven for me. This was two coats.

Coca-Cola Red

Coca-Cola Red (inspired by Coca Cola) is a true, classic Coke red creme. I know it’s just a red but it’s COKE red! It really is a perfect Coke shade and had a nice formula. This was two coats.

Green on the Runway

Green on the Runway (inspired by Sprite) is a green/brown-red duochrome. This is an amazing color and my photo doesn’t do it justice. The green is super intense and you see flashes of other colors in lower lighting. It wants to be a little brush-stroke-y so work carefully when applying. This was two coats. I think it’s a must-have shade.

Get Cherried Away

Get Cherried Away (inspired by Cherry Coke) is a deep black cherry creme. Perfectly fitted for the Cherry Coke color! Great formula, this was two creamy coats.

A Grape Affair

A Grape Affair (inspired by Fanta Grape) is a very dark purple creme. This is a gorgeous shade, I really, really like it. It’s dark but very obviously purple, not black. Great formula and only two coats.

My Signature is “DC”

My Signature is “DC” (inspired by Diet Coke) is a silver metallic. It’s very shimmery, very metallic looking and has a great formula. This is just two coats. Looks perfect with the Diet Coke label!

Today I Accomplished Zero

Today I Accomplished Zero (inspired by Coke Zero) is a black with red glitter. This is a fantastic color and I was really pleased with how easy-to-use and even the formula was. This is just two coats and it looks so opaque.

Orange You Fantastic!

Orange You Fantastic! (inspired by Fanta Orange) is an orange glitter. The base is a light yellow/orange and then it’s jam-packed with orange, red and gold glitter in various sizes. This is two coats and I got decent coverage. Goes perfectly with the soda I think!

My personal favorites here are You’re So Vain-illa, Green on the Runway, Coca-Cola Red, A Grape Affair and Today I Accomplished Zero.

They will be available starting in June at the usual spots for $9.00 each.

So now that you’ve seen them, what do you think? Are you a Coca-Cola fan?

-Kelly
