We recently returned from Melbourne where we had the chance to try a number of great local products including the Melbourne based Planet Luxe Dish Wash, Hand Wash and Hand Balm. This Australian company combines modern and refined styling with vegan and environmentally friendly ingredients to produce household cleaning and hand products that aren’t just eye-catching but also gentle and effective.

the verdict

The bottles are large and functional and the pumps worked effectively to distribute the right amount of soap and balm. All products are made in Australia and the packaging is recyclable. Planet Luxe is a proud member of One Percent for the Planet and donates 1% of annual sales to support non-profit organizations focused on sustainability.

We loved the neutral, natural scent of the Australian Lemon Myrtle. It layers sweet lemon notes with earthy, woody scents to create a refreshing and calming balance. We had the opportunity to test a few other scents from Planet Luxe while we were out shopping, but we can’t resist the Australian Lemon Myrtle. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up more Planet Luxe products since it’s always a pleasure to find vegan, environmentally responsible and effective cleaning products. Combine that with the simple, modern styling and these bottles might just take pride of place around your kitchen or bathroom countertops.

Planet Luxe Dishwash

Australian Lemon Myrtle, Rose Geranium & Kakadu Plum

(500 mL/16.88 fl oz) The dishwashing soap is thinner than the hand wash and has a more mild aroma. I love the faint scent of Lemon Myrtle for the mild nature of washing dishes. One squirt from the pump cleaned well and didn’t leave any noticeable residual odors on our dishes. This can double as a rather neutral hand wash. This soap doesn’t leave my hands feeling dry or worn after washing dishes and hasn’t ruined my nails either.

Contains no ammonia, no phosphates, no sulphates, no parabens, no petrochemicals, no synthetic fragrances or dyes.

Planet Luxe Hand Wash

Australian Lemon Myrtle, Ylang Ylang & Kakadu Plum

(500 mL/17.6 fl oz) Thicker than the dishwashing soap, the hand wash lathers well without being especially bubbly or sudsy. Cleans well and leaves a fresh, clean scent on your hands while also keeping them feeling moisturized. A gentle soap that does well for everyday hand washing but might not be as suitable for grimier jobs. So far though we love that it’s gentle on the hands and leaves them feeling moisturized with a pleasant natural aroma. Stronger scent than the dishwashing soap, with lemony, floral and woody notes most prominent.

Love away the detritus of everyday life with our luxurious Hand Wash. The rich lather nourishes as it cleans and the planet positively exhales with relief.

Planet Luxe Hand Balm

Australian Lemon Myrtle, Shea Butter, & Kakadu Plum

(500 mL/17.6 fl oz) As expected it’s thicker than the two soaps but it’s still a relatively lightweight lotion that applies easily and doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily afterwards. The hand balm has a soothing aroma that is distinct without being overwhelming. Creamy smooth consistency and easy application combined with a calming earthy aroma make this a lovely hand moisturizer. You only need a little bit, but it’s easy to control the distribution from the pump. This hand balm also works well as a body moisturizer.

Bearing the brunt of assiduous living, our episdermis can feel abused and unloved. Appease neglected, dehydrated skin adn promote its natural renewal process with our intensely rich, moisturizing Hand Balm. Thirsty skin is quenched, softened and soothed.
