New York Nights

One of the best things about this time of year is how long the days are – making for long, fun nights. It’s the best feeling to get off of work and the sun still be out and the city your oyster. It makes me so much more likely to get out and meet up with friends or take the leisurely route home along the West Side highway for the sunset.

Down in our neighborhood there’s an adorable little street called Minetta Lane. It’s quiet, charming and home to a few of the best restaurants in the city. We were over there this past weekend at dinner at Perla – I highly recommend – and it’s one of my favorite little detours on my walks home.

This past weekend my parents were in town and we had a blast hanging out and exploring a few things around the city. We went to the new observatory deck at One World Trade center (stunning views of the city), had lunch at Katz’s deli for my Dad’s favorite – a pastrami Reuben, and Sunday finished it off with lunch with my roommate at The Smith. Having visitors in town is a ton of fun, and one of my best friends from high school will be here this weekend. In the meantime there’s lots to do before I get to another fun few days!
