TVM: Tell us about how and when your label was created?
WGW: We are new to the scene. Daniel is a carpenter by trade. We got wood came about last year when I was looking everywhere for a cool kind of ladder shelf to put all my bits and pieces on for an affordable price. I could not find anything. One day I came home and Daniel had made me a ladder and put it in my apartment. I loved it!
We realised after multiple compliments and questions that other people loved it too and started experimenting with making other wooden furniture pieces as well, but our ladder will always be our favourite piece!
What pieces are included within your range?
I’d say our main piece is our ladder, however we make all kinds of wooden furniture such as coffee tables, bedside tables, trestle tables, blanket boxes.. We make whatever the people want really!
We try to use reclaimed timber wherever possible, we love working with pallets, wall studs, fence pailings, fence posts etc.
What are your creative backgrounds?
Daniel is a carpenter and our passion is to work with timber and turn it into unique pieces that hopefully everyone will love as much as we do.
Where is the label designed and made?
We got wood is designed and handmade by the two of us in Brisbane
What inspires the two of you?
We are mainly inspired from the timber we are using. We love that it is reclaimed and we can give it another go at life. Seeing our customers happy and our pieces in their home/business inspires us to keep doing what we are doing.
What music do you listen to while designing/creating?
We like to listen to chilled out music while we build, our playlist generally consists of Vance Joy, Chet Faker, Ball Park Music, Alt J, The Griswolds, Milky Chance, Sticky fingers.
Favourite TVM stall (besides yours of course)?
We love all the stalls! The Village markets have such an amazing vibe! The people are lovely, the music is beautiful, and the food is delish! We love absolutely everything about spending our Sunday at TVM!
