Cuando miras la fotografía de un salón y te parece que todos los muebles están hechos a escala infantil, pero lees el texto y compruebas que las sillas y la mesa son de tamaño "normal", es cuanto descubres que todo lo que estás viendo es, sencillamente, de unas dimensiones poco habituales, con techos a más de 5 metros de altura y que estás en un loft (más bien, en dos lofts unidos) de 315 metros cuadrados en pleno Manhattan. Que estás viendo algo realmente especial. Y aunque las fotografías no muestran lo que entendemos habitualmente por un loft -yo aquí siempre me imagino espacios amplios y abiertos, suelos de cemento pulido o madera centenaria, paredes de ladrillo, grandes ventanales, vigas, tubos a la vista y en general, un aire industrial-, los propietarios de este increíble hogar, la pareja de exitosos fotógrafos de origen holandés Inez de Laamswerde y Vinoodh Matadin han creado rincones y espacios independientes a base, sobre todo de arte y mucha madera. A loft in Manhattan with 17-foot-high ceilings in the living area and about 3400 sq. meters owned by two successful photographers, Inez de Laamswerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who have given their home a coziness and boho vibe that I find really attractive.
