Vix In Print

How much do I love the Vix card my fabulous friend Suzanne designed for me?

A day without dressing up really is a day wasted. My wardrobe is stuffed with crazy vintage clothes and it would be a crime not to wear them at every available opportunity.

So,despite today being far from glamorous, starting with cake for breakfast (we'd run out of cereal) followed by a tedious three loads of laundry, a bastard massive heap of ironing and a quick trip round the charity shops, I chose to wear this glorious 1970s cotton jumpsuit with big hair & 6" wedges.

The cotton jumpsuit was from high-end New York based vintage business Morphew. They've been fans of my blog for a while and when they offered me a choice of something fabulous from their website I almost bit their hands off. It arrived within a week (I've waited twice as long for Brit-based eBay sellers to deliver) packed carefully within in a quality garment bag along with a wooden coat hanger and a glossy look book.

While I love a bargain if I had unlimited cash I'd have no hesitation in the odd vintage splurge and, believe me, I'd happily fritter away obscene amounts of cash away on some of their stock.

The jumpsuit wasn't the only exciting parcel to arrive. Here's the July issue of Vintage Life magazine featuring yours truly in an article on 1970s fashion (what else?) written by Liza of Vintage Knitter fame.

I also got papped by The Telegraph when we were at Glastonbury. I've no idea if the photo got published or ended up on the cutting room floor (the press seem to prefer twenty-something Kate Moss wannabes in denim cut-offs and designer wellies than mad old birds in vintage Hawaiian maxis and Indian parasols) but it was exciting at the time.

Two posts in a week? That'll be because don't have to leave for our next festival until Friday. Bliss!

Talking of which we'll be trading at Liverpool's Speke Hall as part of their annual Vintage Festival this coming weekend and camping alongside our mates Boomerang Retro in the grounds of the spectacular Tudor mansion. The cider's already on ice, I can't wait!
