Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipstick review.

You may have noticed this month I have been feeling rather spendy by the amount of new beauty bits I've been picking up. One of the items I picked up was the Clinique Pop Lip Colour Primer lipsticks - a product I lusted after since I first spotted and couldn't wait to try.
I've been trying and testing the two shades I picked up and thought it was about time I shared my thoughts with you. The two shades I picked up were Melon Pop and Cherry Pop.
The Clinique Pop Lip Colour Primer Lipsticks are said to be extremely moisturising on the lips keeping them moisturised for 8 hours. They are also said to "glide on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish" with the "colour staying true."
The first thing I noticed about these lipsticks was how moisturising and smooth they felt upon application. They didn't cling to any dry spots and just generally felt really comfortable. I'm not sure on the 8 hour claim but the Clinique Pop Lip Colour lipsticks definitely kept them moisturised for a good four hours with ease before they needed retouching. Food and drink did effect the wear but better than other lipsticks I've tried.
As to the modern-velvet finish the lipsticks leave a very shiny finish that really catches the light. The colours really do stay true to their colour.

Cherry Pop is a bright red shade but with fuscia mixed in creating a gorgeous Summer red on the lips.

Melon Pop is a shade more on the neutral spectrum, again with a tint of pink mixed in. Swatches of both shades are below with Melon Pop to the left and Cherry Pop on the right.
Overall these Pop Lip Colour Primer lipsticks from Clinique really are worth the hype and amazing products. I love the formula of them and how they feel on the lips. The colour payoff is amazing - I really wish I could purchase the entire collection from the range.
Have you tried these new lipsticks from Clinique? What brand makes your favourite lipstick?
