Instagram Contest giveaway for March

Happy Saturday everyone! I know i have been rather erratic in posting. One post a week seems to be the best i can do these days!

I know that folks are not spending as much time on blogs these days as they are on Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest. I’ve been spending more time there myself and especially on Instagram .

So today i thought i would try something different and have a contest giveaway on Instagram instead of my blog. So please go to my feed @violetteclark and enter to win some wonderful goodies. I have been working away on my moleskine book and added this painted page called “go for the joy”. Opposite the page is a lovely print by artist Nicole rae. Quite the contrast no?

Here’s a view of the page before i glued and taped it into my book.

This page was lots of fun – i used alcohol inks for the first time in a longtime and did not remember how incredibly vibrant they were! I squirted green on and then the magenta colour which was way to dark! I kept trying a variety of different things to push back the intensity. I ended up using torn masking tape……..

and sponge painted white over top. Some of the magenta bled through but it still allowed me to write on top my message/quote from Buddha. I washi taped the quirky face on and then wrote a message about spectacular mistakes i have made in my life underneath the head.

I freaked out at first because i wasn’t thrilled with how the page was unfolding. In the end it was okay!
