What I wore... with my adorable tiny beret!

I've recently discovered the wonderful Hello Strumpet shop thanks to our new #EETCraft team and as soon as I clapped eyes on this little beret hat my heart skipped a beat! Isn't it the greatest accessory you've ever seen?
Hello Strumpet Beret
I've always had a love of quirky hats and fascinators, but this is the first one I've ever seen that I've found really easy to dress up as well as down. As much as I love my bunny ears from Rock n Roll Bride / Crown & Glory, wearing them to go for a wander round the town always feels a little OTT, which is a shame as I don't wear them as much as I'd like to. Fabulously, you don't need to be going to a wedding or a girls night out to pull off one of these wonderful little hats; matched up with a breton striped jumper or cute day dress and you can wear it whenever... or in my case, daily!!

I've got my eye on a few other hats from Hello Strumpet including this gorgeous bubblegum fascinator which really makes me think of Jackie O. Such a great colour! And this really pretty mustard cocktail hat, which is crying out to be worn with a pin up style wiggle dress! Each one is handmade and can be customised, making them ideal if you've got a special occasion to go to like a wedding (or craft party heehee!) If I had my way, I'd have one made for every day of the week ;)

My beret has been made with the softest black mohair and it's really well made as it's super sturdy, has the lovely little stem detail in the middle and it's lined with a silk material underneath meaning it's going to last. It comes in a box so you don't need to worry about it getting damaged whist being delivered which is a really thoughtful touch. You can also choose to have a comb attached to the inside or a hair elastic to hold it in place; I've opted for the comb as I find them easier to wear (less constrictive with my wild hair!) plus it holds in place really well if you backcomb your hair slightly where you want it to sit...

Not only did it stay in place all day, but it even lasted after these dudes were fighting over it! haha!

Phenomenal hat aside, for this week's outfit post I'm wearing my Tara Starlet top which is now unavailable but they have plenty of lovely alternatives and a pair of their amazing high waisted sailor slacks. I actually have a couple of versions of each because I'm a fan, but you do need to be careful to take your measurements before ordering as they don't match up to 'high street sizes'. The trousers are super long so be prepared to take them up a little when you buy them; better too long than too short at least!

My Eiffel Tour necklace was a souvenir from our trip a couple of years ago (how time flies!!) And my envelope bag is from Kate Spade, it fits either my purse or my phone, but you've got to admit it's crazy cute even though it is totally impractical! Oh, the things a girl will put up with in the name of fashion ;)

Here's a little spotlight shot of my cute V ring is from ClaireabelleMakes as you can't really see it in the other pictures. It's made from a wooden scrabble piece and it's got a great woodgrain texture to it which unfortunately you can't see in this image, but trust me, it looks amazing on! Defo going to be wearing this to our next market - V is for Vicky as well as Vivid after all ;)

I'm so pleased the sun came out for this fashion post because it means we get to eat ALL the ice cream! Doesn't Edinburgh look beautiful when it's not raining? Hopefully this will be the first '99 of many this summer :D
I hope this blog post has inspired you to wear more cute cocktail hats or invest in a tiny beret like mine. Be prepared to see this little hat much more because I am seriously addicted to it!
