Oscar – “Beautiful Words”

With every move and release British wonder Oscar Scheller continues to find new ways to leave me impressed. So naturally, I’m very excited that he’s announced that his debut EP Beautiful Words, will be released on June 23 via Wichita Recordings.

I fully expected him to return with songs more in the pop-rock vein of the wonderful “Daffodil Days,” (which appears on the EP as well) but he surprised me with the new direction he’s laid out with “Beautiful Words.” His warm vocals rise above the lush synths and electronic beats, creating a different avenue for him to win us over. There’s underlying elements of hip-hop in there as well, showcasing his electric and varied taste.

As the opening track of the EP, it sets the tone and paves the way for the other rich wonders that Scheller has set for us not only on this release, but in the future.
