FASHION DESIGNER OF THE WEEK: DURO OLOWU

Duro Olowu, Nigerian born London-based designer, is known for his flowy dresses and bold prints. He is a designer that one should become acquainted with because he makes boho look oh-so-chic. Drawing his inspirations from vintage cuts and fabrics as well as African prints, he creates the perfect silhouette.
Since arriving on the London fashion scene in 2004, Nigerian-born Duro Olowu has impressed the right people with his vibrant mix of African prints, seventies tailoring, and unlikely color combos. A high-waisted patchwork boho dress—known as the “Duro”—put the brand on the fashion map, and became a cult item in 2005 after being discovered by American Vogue editor Sally Singer and Julie Gilhart of Barneys.
He recently unveiled his Autumn/winter collection at the London Fashion Week 2015. The new collection is inspired by Fauvist avant-garde artist Kees van Dongen , he stated that his paintings were second to none. The new collections features bold prints, polka dots, grid checks, Signature cape, also Bringing great twist of Kimono style to Fall. I love the colours and delicate florals reminiscent of thirties wallpaper used. What do you think about the collection?
