Pop of Coral from Chanel | Anniversary Date Night Make Up

My anniversary is one of the occasions in the year that I always love to get ready for. I like to really take my time to get ready and apply my favourite makeup from my stash.

The makeup look that I have created here is one that I think would be perfect for a date. It has a flawless base, soft romantic eyes and a pop of colour on the lips which also makes it perfect for going into the Spring months.

I posted my Valentines Day Outfit Post yesterday and the make up that I'm wearing in that post is the same makeup that I'm wearing in these photos.

I've been really enjoying this make up look and as I took these products away with me for the night last week, I have lazily kept them in my makeup bag and just used the same products since I got back! Tomorrow is my anniversary and I'm going out to celebrate with Mr WLL. This will be the make up that I'll be wearing then.

The majority of the products that I've used here are high end but that's just because that is the makeup that I prefer to buy for myself and have in my everyday collection.

There are so many dupes around these days for getting similar colours and the drugstore have so many great products out there that this look can easily be achieved whether you're using expensive, middle of the road or more affordable products.

I started off with my foundation and I used the Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation in the colour 20 Beige. I bought this last month and have really loved using it. It gives a medium coverage to the skin that you can sheer out a little. When applying, I need to be careful though as it is very buildable and can easily become a full coverage foundation if I'm not careful and that's something that I don't need because my skin is pretty clear with relatively even pigmentation. This foundation has a matte but natural looking finish and it really creates a flawless looking basis.

Where my skin isn't quite as even in colour is around my eyes. I'm the kind f girl that promises herself she'll go to bed early and then is still sat up watching Netflix until the very early hours. Alas, somethings will never change but one thing that did change was adding the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer into my base routine recently. It is so creamy and doesn't crease under the eyes if you apply it lightly, blend it out and set it with a little powder. I have it in the colour Vanilla which was a total guess when looking online but it is perfect for my skin tone to use to highlight my face and cover dark circles. The coverage is fabulous, it covers and brightens everywhere I need it to and it gives a gorgeously perfected look to the skin.

Moving onto the eyes where I turned to my most used eye shadow palette right now which is the Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette. I bought this on my honeymoon last year and while I thought it was pretty, I wasn't blown away. However I pulled it out again back in November and I've used it literally every time I've applied eye shadow since.

The creamy white shade over there on the far left is the perfect brow bone highlight. I like to pack the colour on there and then lightly wash it over the rest of my eyelid to make them matte and even in colour. Then I take the second to last shade which reminds me of MAC All That Glitters and run that all over my lid, blending it lightly upwards towards my brow bone. I use the last shade on the right in the crease and outer part of the lid and then I blend a very small amount of the darkest shade in the palette into the outer v to create a little extra depth and that's basically the signature look that I've been creating with this palette.

As always, I lined my eyes using the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Eye Pencil in Onyx which is a pigmented black eye liner that I love to use in my water line because it is long lasting and has great colour payoff.

To line my upper lid, I used the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in black to create a soft, short wing. I actually got this free in a magazine and if I'm honest, I didn't get round to finishing the magazine but Ive loved using this eyeliner. It isn't the best one I've used as it is quite quickly running out and getting dry, especially compared to the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Liner but it is really easy to use and creates a great winged eyeliner look.

I then dusted my skin with a loose powder to set my foundation in place and to make sure that everything is looking even and flawless before adding other products on top. I used the Clinique Gentle Light Powder in 03 Glow which Clinique have discontinued and I haven't been able to find a good replacement for since. It mattifies the skin yet seems to add this fabulously natural luminosity to the skin at the same time. Good skin in a pot is very hard to find in powder products but this one ticks all of the boxes so to say that I'm hating Clinique for discontinuing it is an understatement!

After I powder my face, I always move onto my brows. Here I used my usual brow pencil which is the Laura Mercier Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette. This one is fairly cool toned and has a slightly waxy texture to it. I haven't tried many high end brow products to be able to compare it to but I really really like it.

To add warmth and definition to my face, I contoured using Hoola by Benefit and brought light to my face with the Dior Diorskin Nude Shimmer Instant Illuminating Powder 001 which I believe was a limited edition release or one that they've since replaced. Annoying I know but I have tonnes of this one left so wont be buying a more up to date one until this one has ran out. I'd recommend the Sleek one from their contour kit if you're looking to get one. The duo palette is sooo good for highlighting and contouring.

For a touch of colour on my cheeks, I turned to another honeymoon purchase, the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy which is a gorgeous coral shade that looks great with the warm neutrals on my eyes. It is really well pigmented and buttery soft so it applies like a dream and lasts all day.

After a quick curl of my lashes, I added a coat of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which is my all time favourite mascara and sadly, I think that tomorrow will be my last time using it as I've almost ran out. It gives the lashes length, curl, volume and intense black definition with no effort at all. Its a rare day to find this in stock on line as it is that popular, and rightly so. I've scoured the net and found some on Debenhams and Sephora.

Then it was time to add the lashes and the ones that I chose and have been wearing countless times recently are the 'Hot' lashes by Kiss*. These are from the Looks So Natural range which is available at Superdrug. I've reviewed the range and a couple of different pairs in another post here but essentially, they're lashes with a tapered end so they look incredibly natural on the eyes.

They're also very lightweight so if you're someone who has found false lashes to weigh your lashes down in the past, then these would be ideal for you. The 'Hot' pair are actually my favourite ones I've tried so far because they really open up your eyes. They gradually become denser and thicker towards the outer corners which I really like because it really makes your eyes stand out. They look super flirty and fluttery!

Lastly, I added a slick of the new Chanel spring lipstick release, the Rouge Allure Lipstick in Insaisissable. This bright, vivid coral with a strong hint of orange, is the perfect lipstick to brighten up spring days and it is equally suited to evenings out. It applies like a dream, has a semi opaque coverage on the lips and is comfortable to wear throughout the day with topping up only needed after eating and drinking.

Now if you want my advice, buy this now if you want to get it because the limited edition releases from Chanel sell out far too quickly for my liking and before you know it, this one will be completely gone.

That's what happened for me at Christmas at least. I bought my friend the limited edition red lippy and nail polish for her birthday at the end of November, went back a week and a half later to buy my own and they'd completely sold out. Incredibly annoying and a mistake I'll certainly not be making again.

I've scoured the internet and found some stock of the limited edition Chanel Insaisissable here.

So that's my anniversary date night make up look. I'd love to know what you think of it in the comments.
