(Dress: Warehouse, Shoes: Zara (out of stock but similar here), Bag: Mansur Gavriel, Sunglasses: C/O Toyshades) It's not often I get so excited by a collection that I impulsively have to refresh a 'New In' page daily, but after spotting
Warehouse's SS16 lookbook on Twitter (and proceeding to
keep sharing it) that's exactly what happened. Perhaps it was the cropped pink trousers with a peplum flare, the
burnt orange suede seventies jacket with the brassy buckle or even the prairie-style smocks. But let's be honest- they had me at with this girlie picnic-blanket gingham bardot dress, didn't they? So much so that when it came in online I text my friend
Charlotte (all in caps, FYI) and we both simultaneously ordered it and counted down until it's arrival. Sorry, absolutely
not sorry.
So, when better an occasion then to take it out, on what felt like one of the warmest days of the year on a trip to Cambridge. With it's simultaneously preppy-meets-Italian-50s-movie-star quality (niche, but I'd like to think accurate), I paired it with my most worn glove shoes and my total dream bag (both for it's colour and the fact it fits the kitchen sink inside too). It made for the perfect Spring time get up- and even worked with a cropped knit when the sun started to go down too- as if I couldn't love it any more. Now that's a modern love story for ya.
