(Hat: ASOS, Shirt: Topshop, Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Boots: Zara, Bag: Baia) Did anyone used to watch That 70's Show? I remember missing it first time round (and never knowing what people were talking about), so instead became infatuated with the (one series wonder) The'70s House- a 2005 reality show where people were made to live in a house, you guessed it, as if they were in the '70s. Regardless, I remember loving it. My 13 year old self was in love with housemate Ruben (he had me a 'flicky hair') and although I was too young to appreciate the over the top flares and optical illusion collared shirts- it did get me thinking about my current sartorial choices and how they may not be
too dissimilar from that of their wardrobe department ; )
Anyway- this era-inspired skirt was an Urban Outfitters sale buy. I'm not a big advocate of sales shopping, especially in January- but I'm all for digging out bargains if you've had an eye on them for a while- and this skirt was one I'd definitely fallen in love with. After realising it would go with about 99% of my wardrobe, I hunted it down and have pretty much worn it every day since (bar the days it's in the wash, duh). This look is probably my tribute to a week-long MTV favourite, and hopefully it'll stand me in good stead for all of the 'retro' Spring trends too- huzzah!
