Vintage Style Inspiration and Wishlist

I love scrolling through Pinterest looking for inspiration for my vintage-inspired looks, and I thought it might make an interesting post if I shared some images I found particularly appealling and thought about how I could source a similar item of clothing for myself or how you could find them after reading this post!

I love the look of this blouse with its lantern sleeves and oversized collar. It's simple yet dramatic at the same time, and I think it makes something special out of a plain white blouse. The closest thing I could find to this blouse is this one on ASOS, which has similarly fluted sleeves and that same dramatic collar.

Continuing with the white shirt theme, I found this gorgeous embroidered collar and fell in love with it. It's such a dainty addition to a basic white shirt. I have seen several embroidery videos on Facebook recently, and thought that this sort of thing would be such a fun thing to DIY, following tutorials such as
this one and
this one. By doing my own embroidery, I would feel I'd learnt a new skill and also had a unique item that no one else was going to have as well!

All I can think about when looking at this picture is how nice a woollen skirt would be for autumn and winter. I found this similar one on LindyBop. This one is a forest green, unlike the grey one in the inspiration picture, but I love the shade and it's actually very similar to the colour of the model's shirt!

This image made me think that I really need to introduce some more oranges and browns into my wardrobe. I love wearing red and mustard, so why not complete my autumnal colour scheme in this way? An outfit like this (where the shoes and bag match so perfectly holy guacamole) would be absolutely perfect for autumn, although I of course would wear it all year round because hey, I'm wild.

Okay. I love this picture. The brogues, the little brown socks, oof my heart is singing. I personally prefer flat shoes, and flat brogues are very popular, however for this post I tried to find some heeled brogues as well and it was hard work. I don't understand why it was quite so difficult!

I managed to find a flat brogue in black from New Look, a flat brogue in a gorgeous tan brown from Clarks, and a higher heeled version in brown from La Redoute, which I love everything about apart from the fringe thing on the front. I just want some simple heeled brogues like in the image, but there are options available on EBay.

I love the way this high-neck jumper is tucked into this chunky belt and full circle skirt. Of course at the moment that style of jumper is very hard to find, and even if you find one it will most likely be cropped. Angry? Me? Nooooo... I'd honestly recommend popping into a charity shop and finding a ribbed jumper that's fairly thin so it's easily tucked in rather than attempting to find a full-length jumper in a high street store.
I hope that you've enjoyed reading this post. For more inspiration for your own vintage-inspired looks, feel free to check out and follow my Pinterest board on the topic!
