DIY painted succulent pots
Succulents have to be the cutest little plants in the entire world. Seriously. They're freakin' adorable. Unfortunately, I have a black thumb. I can kill just about anything--even a hardy little succulent. But I still love the look of these cuties sitting around the house, so I decided to DIY a substitute for the real deal. One trip to Hobby Lobby later, I was the proud owner of three fake succulents and pots to go with 'em.
Unfortunately, plain terracotta pots aren't the most attractive things in the world. Not to worry, though. The easy solution was, naturally, paint. Solves all the problems. All of them.
Want to make your own? Here's what you'll need:
I used painter's tape to tape off the shapes I wanted to paint. Then I used white acrylic paint to add a touch of modern style to the plain terracotta.
I used mostly the white paint, but I added a little pink, too. These will go in baby's nursery (at least for now), so a girly pop of color was completely necessary.
That's it! This was a super simple project. And it turned out really cute! (And even though my succulents are fake, I think they look pretty realistic. You know, as long as you don't get too close. Bonus!) Plus, since the plants are fake, baby might be able to play gardener when she's old enough.
