When I knew I was going to be visiting Lapland I was conjuring up all of these ideas about shooting big colourful billowing dresses against the white backdrop. These were all very quickly scuppered when I came to do my research on what normal people wear in Lapland; thermals are a must. Just having my hands out of gloves for more than ten minutes wasn’t particularly sensible – even worse was deciding to pick up the snow! Ouch.
So this is my compromise – the most ‘fashion’ I could get without freezing any limbs off! Not quite as warm as the big black and blue Michelin man style suit I was wearing over my clothes for the majority of the trip!
My kind of ridiculous faux fur hat may have made it look like I’d restyled my hair into grey mullet, but it certainly kept my ears toasty!
I know I’m keeping you waiting for those Northern Lights snaps, but they are worth the wait, I promise! I even have a super special video to go alongside…
