Winter Sunrise

Brrr

Just looking at these pictures is making me shiver a little. I know warmth comes to mind when I say Portugal, but it turned out to be almost just as cold as the chilly UK…only in Portugal central heating doesn’t seem to be a thing, which is a bit of an issue when you’re staying in a farm house with high ceilings in the middle of nowhere.

We’d huddle by the fire to watch a film wearing our coats and beanies on top of our pyjamas. I think I’ve only just got rid of the smell of burning logs from my hair. I’m not complaining by any means, disconnecting for a while was very much welcome.

We went for a walk at sunrise – similar to the one we shot last September. What difference a few months make! The orange and brown terrain I’m used to in Summer had turned green and wet with dew. The sheep were the only ones making any noise with bells around their necks.

I stole Miguel’s warmest coat for the occasion, which I’m thinking I might have to do more often when we’re reunited in London – that thing is like a duvet!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and you’re still enjoying leftovers – I know I am! x
