Thirty-One Weeks

31 weeks means that I only have single digit weeks left. As quickly as I know the time is going to go by, it feels far away still. I only have 6 weeks left in the office, which is what is making it feel short, but potentially up to 10 weeks until we meet this little guy, which feels terribly long...

In that six weeks time, we have to interview and hire and train someone to cover my duties, and I have to find a way to leave a handbook of sorts for them to reference in my absence. I didn't anticipate that to be as overwhelming as it feels. I feel like so much of what is necessary for my position is just common sense, and am not sure how to put that on paper. So I'm just going to try to keep notes of things I'm doing as the time goes on, and hopefully it will all come together.

It always comes together, doesn't it? :)

WEEKLY STATS

How far along?
31 weeks
Total weight gain: 26.5 pounds
Stretch marks? None that I can tell yet
Sleep Habits: I need a lot of pillows and I hate rolling over.
Best moment(s) this week: Upgrading my maternity leave! I was originally going to work from home from 37 weeks to birth and then start working from home part time at 6 weeks post-partum, but now I am happy to report that my last day of work will be December 20th (37w2d) through the beginning of April, approximately the 7th, but essentially whatever date ends up being about 12 weeks after the baby is born. This makes me endlessly relieved and happy and I just can't wait!
Miss anything? Being comfortable, mostly.
Movement: Yes! And it's even starting to get a little painful at times.
Food cravings: Still none really. But I have been enjoying ice cream every now and then. I really didn't each much of it before I was pregnant at all.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No! Thank goodness :)
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Nothing yet.
Symptoms: I'm waddling and I feel like my hips are starting to spread apart a bit. I am running out of breath from walking from the parking structure to my office building.. or if I talk too much at once. And I had to wear nursing pads for the first time the other day. Awkward? It's actually kind of cool. I still think it's crazy that my body will be able to feed my baby. Pretty amazing.
Belly Button in or out? It's in a really awkward in-between stage. But I don't think I can classify it as "in" anymore.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm doing okay. Feeling happy about maternity leave and meeting this little guy. I'd say I'm more tired than moody. Daily life is just starting to feel a little more exhausting. I know it's only going to get more difficult as time goes on.
Looking forward to: My shower next weekend, the HOLIDAYS, and really starting to get all of our ducks in a row over the next 8-10 weeks.
