30 Days of Beauty- Jumping on the Blender Bandwagon [Makeup Look]

So a not-so-secret secret- I kinda suck at blogging. I go through periods where I post 2x a day for a few weeks, and then radio silence. It’s awful! I think part of it has to do with finding my voice while writing. Half the time I want to sound professional, the other half I want to just talk to you like me.

So I’m going with the 2nd one. It’s easier, and I think you all enjoy it more :)

Another thing I’m not so awesome at is wearing makeup regularly. In the past, I feel like I wore makeup every day, no matter what. I wouldn’t leave the house without it. As I’ve gotten older, while I still love applying makeup and making myself up, I find on the day to day aspect it’s not at the top of my things-to-do list. I think I’ve also become a lot less self conscious, and so I don’t really mind running to the grocery store bare faced.

That being said, I do miss the fun aspect of just sitting down and creating something. while it’s not as high on my to-do list, it is also a hobby of mine, and it’s so important for my creativity to keep it going and fresh and just play, even if all I do is wash it right off when I’m done. To try and bring my creativity back, I’m doing a blog series called “30 Days of Beauty” which will have a new look every day for the month of April. I’m hoping this will bounce me right back into blogging regularly, as well as being more creative with my makeup!

The other day I couldn’t sleep and recorded a couple YouTube videos at 1 in the morning, and this was the makeup that I applied for it. It’s pretty simple stuff, but the focus was having really awesome skin. I recently jumped on the Beauty Blender train (I had tried it years ago and really didn’t like it, but I’m 99% sure I wasn’t wetting the sponge before using it. I’ve been applying it this way for a few weeks now and really love the results! I used Naked Skin foundation (as always) and my IT Cosmetics Under Eye Brightener/Concealer duo. I also wanted to focus on contouring and highlighting, as that’s such a huge trend right now. I used my Smashbox Contour Stick Trio along with Kat Von D Shade Light palette. Blush is Makeup Geek Spell Bound.

For my eyes I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and UD Demolition liner, pretty easy look :) Lips included UD Liar and Naked2 Lip Liners with Too Faced Melted Nude liquid lipstick and Milani Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in Venice.

And there ya go! Can’t wait to play around with all the new stuff I’ve gotten recently and come up with some pretty looks :) See you tomorrow!
