While at BeautyCon last month, I got a really awesome gift bag (
The first thing I noticed about this was the packaging- it reminded me of Capri Sun! It’s in a bag with a plastic twist-off cap. This mask is oil-based, so the packaging does make sense, as it wouldn’t really work in a tub!
This one is called “Island Escape” and has a very soft pina colada scent. The directions said to apply to dry hair and leave on for at least 30 minutes.
I applied this in the morning, and I think I applied a little too much- my hair SOAKED this up! I put a shower cap on overtop and left it on all day. Since it isn’t a protein mask, there’s no harm in leaving it on longer than suggested, and my hair can always use a little pick-me-up :)
When rinsing out a mask like this, it’s really important to make sure you shampoo really, really well. I though I had and my hair still felt a bit slick after it dried later on, but that could have been because I also used my regular conditioner afterwards which was probably overdoing it. This would be a great mask to apply at night and wear while you are sleeping, or even to use a blowdryer overtop of a shower mask for a few minutes to really get the oils to sink in!
This is available for $29 on Amazon. Knowing how much it costs now, I would have definitely used a bit less when I tried it out! I think you could easily get 5-6 applications out of this pack if you aren’t going overboard like me :)
