Refresh Your Mascara?! Urban Decay Mascara Resurrection Review & Demo!

One of the worst things in the world to mess up is your mascara.

Mascara is, in my opinion, one of the most important makeup products. It instantly makes you look more awake and ready to go, and is generally pretty easy and fast to apply. But we’ve all been there- applying too much, waiting to apply a second coat a little too long and getting the dreaded “tarantula leg” look..

While mascara is on of the most important makeup products, it also can be pretty unforgiving. Once it’s on, there usually not much you can do to fix a mistake short of taking it off and starting over (which tends to ruin any eyeshadow you make have on if you aren’t super careful, leading to more work)

Urban Decay has released a new product that just might help with all mascara troubles!

Mascara Resurrection is a clear lash product designed to be applied over your already mascara-covered lashes to help refresh them, as if you were mid-mascara application again. The idea is to be able to fix clumpy lashes that are already dry, or be able to apply more mascara on top of your lashes later on in the day.

I really wanted to try this out, because i have never heard of such a product and was super curious as to how well it worked! I had gotten this in the mail late in the day, and already had mascara on since the morning. I figured this would be the perfect time to try it out and see how well it worked to “refresh and reboot” my mascara.

For this test, I applied mascara right overtop of my lashes on one eye (to show what it looked like to try and layer mascara on after your first coat is dried) and for the second eye, I applied the Mascara Resurrection, and then the second coat of mascara.

If you’re curious, the mascara was L’Oreal Miss Manga :)

Here is the eye I applied straight mascara on to after hours of having mascara already on. You can see how the lashes started clumping, getting that tarantula leg look.. not cute. They also felt really sticky- every time I blinked it felt like my upper and lower lashes were sticking together.

Here’s the eye with Mascara Resurrection. I applied Mascara Resurrection, and it easily went through my lashes- there was no pulling and struggle like when I was applying mascara over the dried mascara on the other eye. After I applied Resurrection, I went in with my Miss Manga Mascara, and it applied like it was on clean lashes! Went through smooth, added length and separation.

Overall, I absolutely love this product and think its such a cool concept. This would be a great little piece to keep in your purse for any time you want to bump up your eye look a bit. It works effortlessly and I loved the results!

Mascara Resurrection will be available for $16 from Urban Decay later this month. I really think this one is neat and worth checking out!
