The first time I’ve heard about the Burt’s Bees brand was through their lip balms, then I found out about their skin care, body, baby products. To be quite honest, before I became a beauty blogger, I only know a few things about Burt’s Bees. And them having their own lip gloss line is one of the things I didn’t know about.

Truth be told, despite my lipstick hoarding problems, lip glosses aren’t really my fave. I don’t like the feeling it gives me, I don’t like the stickiness, I don’t like how sometimes slimy they are (yes, I said it. Slimy). Like I said, lip glosses aren’t my fave. But don’t get me wrong. I don’t dismiss them either. There are still lip glosses that I really like those Nyx Butter Glosses. I guess it really depends.
PACKAGING
The packaging of this product is very simple and straightforward which is something that I prefer in a lip gloss. The color of the tube remains true to color. It comes with a doe-foot applicator so it’s easy to use.
SHADE
Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Glosses come in 12 shades and I believe they’re all available locally. This particular lip gloss is more of a berry-red lip color. It’s very wearable and it definitely matches the Fall and Winter season. If you’re looking for some darker glosses to top off your usual red lippies then this would be it. The lip gloss is not as pigmented when worn by itself. However it still provides your lips that pinkish “my lips but better” shade. Definitely something you can wear for your “no-makeup makeup look”.
TEXTURE & FORMULA
The formula is very moisturizing so I prefer to use this alone, especially for days when I go for minimal makeup. If you know me, I like priming my lips with a lip balm before applying ANY lip product but with this one, I totally skip doing that. It’s also a bit sticky compared to my other lip glosses. In fact, this is the most sticky lip gloss I own. BUT! BUT! BUT!!! I don’t own sticky lip glosses and if I do, I give them away. This is not overwhelmingly sticky. It’s bearable and it also helps prolong the staying power of the product itself.
APPLICATION
Due to it’s doe foot applicator, it’s very easy to apply and blend. You can also layer it up to your preferred intensity. Same goes when using it as a topper for your other lip products.
PERFORMANCE & LONGEVITY
I like how this product does not emphasize the lines of my lips. Another thing that I don’t like about lip glosses is that they can really show those lines and really emphasize how dry my lips are. But with this lip gloss, instead of showing those flaws, it moisturizes my lips and it hides them. As for the longevity, because I drink a lot, this only lasted me for only an hour. Therefore, retouching is absolutely necessary. Keep in mind though that this is a lip gloss. You’re bound to encounter such issues when it comes to using a lip gloss. Longevity will always be an issue.

Burt’s Bees is known for their all-natural ingredients and this lip gloss is not an exception. As for the scent, it has a sweet subtle, honey-like scent. To be quite honest, I wasn’t a fan at first, but you’ll get used to it. It’s not overwhelming.

Despite its cons, I really do like this lipstick. It’s a great pick me up for days when you really don’t want to wear a lot of makeup but you still would like to look fresh and somehow ‘made-up’. It’s also very moisturizing and feels like a lip balm (with some stickiness on the side). I also like how easy it is to use whether you use it on its own or you use it on top of any other lippie. It’s very versatile.

Yes. If you’re into lip glosses, then go for it. It’s not every day that you find lip glosses that are 100% natural and can moisturize your lips thoroughly (not temporarily). It’s definitely something worth the moolah, if you’re to ask me. :)
