Hey loves! Back when I was packing for our short stay in Pico, I was really struggling on what to bring with me. I wanted all of my makeup to fit in a single pouch. Not as big as my previous travel kit in this post but something as big as the one I used here, which unfortunately, was missing at that time. So I decided to pack all of my essentials in my Zoeva pouch. The one that came with my Zoeva Complete Luxe Brush Set.

I like this pouch because it feels high quality and it has a pocket inside that can separate my eyeliners or my concealer tubes apart from my other makeup. Also, it can house a ton of makeup without taking up too much space in my bag. Anyway, here’s what’s inside my summer/beach makeup kit (Brushes not included).

FACE

Belo SunExpert SPF 40 Face UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum – I have been looking for an alternative sunblock aside from my Isehan Sunkiller Perfect Strong Plus SPF 50 PA and since I’ve been hearing a ton of positive reviews about this particular sunblock, I thought I’d give it a try. So far, I’ve been loving it and di naman ako nasunog kahit na tanghaling tapat ako nagsu-swimming kasama mga dikya

Kleenex Oil Control Film – I don’t have an oily skin but I still buy these things because I still have some natural oil peeking through especially when I sweat profusely. And instead of retouching, I find that blotting is much more effective (though sometimes I still retouch with powder after blotting). I also use this for my hair because my scalp can be quite oily sometimes. As for first impressions go, I cannot really tell whether this compares to the famous C&C oil control films but so far, this works.

Quick FX No Shine Mattifier – This is actually not mine. This was my mama’s because I just emptied mine recently. I borrowed this from her because I can’t find even just a single one in Watson’s. Anyway, I went home having only a few drops of this left. Mabenta to sa mga friends ko! They loved this and every time they borrow this one they kept asking me if I was sure that it’s only Php 90. I keep telling them YES but just make sure buy at least 2 because it gets sold out almost immediately. Lol. I went home explaining to my mama that I don’t have her primer anymore. Lol.

L’oreal Lucent Magique BB Cream – I lah-ove this BB cream and I’m actually sad that this tube only has a few uses left. Tbqh, it’s not that affordable. This BB Cream is something that I opt to use if I don’t want a heavy makeup. Definitely perfect if you want to go to beach or just run some errands.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (deluxe sample size) – I actually forgot which online store gave me this one and I’ve actually been loving it. But I don’t think I’ll be getting it since I find it expensive. I actually prefer my Happy Skin Don’t Get Mad Get Even foundation. Let me know if you want a review about that, btw

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Ultimate Longwear Concealer & Maybelline Mineral Pure Concealer – I had to bring these two because the Collection Cosmetics concealer was the one that I use to cover up my breakouts & my redness while my Maybelline concealer is the one that I use to highlight my undereye area. I’m still looking for a good concealer for my undereye area but until then, I’ll be using these two.

Heroine Make Mineral Smooth Cover Powder – I realize I haven’t done a review about this one (probably because I haven’t taken a photo of it yet. My bad) but I really love this especially if I don’t want that intense coverage and I just want that light feeling enough to set my BB cream/foundation. This product is excellent for retouching since it doesn’t alter the color of your foundation or your blush/contour for that matter. It’s just the right product to keep oil at bay.

EYES

Mistine 3D Brows Secret Set in ‘Dark’ – I love this brow set unfortunately it’s too dark for me so I had to bring a different shade of brow gel but the pencil and the powder is oh so perfect. The pencil glides on perfectly and the powder sets the pencil like no other. I never had any difficulty applying this. Usually brow pencils that have this kind of consistency never lasted on me even when I set it but this can last on me the entire day. Especially when I use the brow gel that’s included in the set. Unfortunately, I haven’t compared it yet when I use a different brow gel since I only did that when I went to the beach. It’s also not as waterproof as I expected. But other than that, it’s sweatproof and it can withstand our weather and with my standards when it comes to brow products, I’m really loving this. I’ll be reviewing this soon, so don’t worry.

Nichido Tinted Brow Gel – This is the brow gel that I use to alter the shade of my Mistine 3D Brow set. I must say, because the brow pencil & powder is really dark, it takes time for me to blend the product. But when applied on a less darker product, it blends beautifully. It can also tame my unruly brows and it’s very opaque. I’m really loving this one compared to all of my Etude brow gels.

Ellana Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Beloved, Intense, Wish and Hush’ – I’ve been loving this quad lately and I’ve been including this in my ‘lazy makeup routine’ (comment if you would like to see that). I even don’t use a blending brush sometimes when I apply these colors. Hehe. Oh and in case you’re wondering, I use one of my concealers as a primer since I forgot to bring an eyeshadow primer, lol.

Heroine Make Impact & Frame Mascara – I thought I should bring a waterproof mascara so I could use it whenever I swim but I end up not using it. nakakahiya sa mga friends ko na di nagmamascara habang nagsu-swimming, diba?

Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in ‘Brown’ – I also ended up not using this. I only used this when I went and got home from Pico. I don’t want to end up looking like a racoon when I got off the pool/beach. :p

Heroine Make Eyelash Curler – I’ve been loving this eyelash curler. I have a feeling that my Shu Uemura is about to give up on me so I decided to use this one. But like I said, I didn’t use it while I was there, I was only able to use this when I was about to go home.

CHEEKS & LIPS

Sleek Face Contour Kit in ‘Medium’ – If you have been following my blog you will know that I’ve been loving this contour kit for years now and this is like an infinity palette. I’ve been using this for years and I still haven’t emptied this product. It’s super sulit, yet it’s not as pricey. But for some reason when I used it when I was there at Pico, I found it to be really orange for my skintone. I thought I looked like an oompa loompa. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the mood for contouring my face at that time, but I didn’t like it.

Ellana Pressed Mineral Blush Duo in ‘Kitten & Peach Passion’ – You pretties know that I lah-ove this product. Like crazy! If I have to choose 5 out of all of my blushes (because i can’t choose just 1! :P) this will be included for sure. And I will not stop with this Ellana blush. I will buy more shades. Taga nyo yan sa bato! Waha

Colourpop Lippie Stix in ‘Clover’ This was included in my Barely Blitz set which is something that I’ll be reviewing soon. I’ve been loving this one as well as the other lipstick that came with this set. These lip products are very opaque and very easy to apply. It’s the one that I was wearing here in this photo.

Happy Skin Moisturizing Lippie in ‘The Morning After’ (LE) – You pretties know that this has been my favorite MLBB. I’m just sorry that this is a limited edition shade so it’s no longer available. But I believe that this shade is actually dupable so you can get something quite similar. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to wear this there since it’s summer and I was in a resort, I wanted to wear something fit for the occasion. Like the previous and the next lip product.

Mac Lipstick in ‘Show Orchid’ – I haven’t used this in a while but I used to be obsessed with this lipstick. It’s not exactly a frosted lippie but it has that beautiful shine that reflects light perfectly. Really excellent for this time of the year.

Burt’s Bees Rose Tinted Lip Balm – Another part of my lazy day makeup routine. Very moisturizing and easy to slap on whenever I’m in a hurry.

So those are all of the makeup products that I brought with me during my 3 days vaca last weekend. Believe me THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. Being such a makeup junkie, even though I know that I wont be able to use all of it, I had a hard time deciding which one I was going to bring. But in the end I had to be practical. As you can see, I was only able to use a couple of them and even as I was using them my friends were like ‘Ang tagal mo sana 6 AM nalang tayo gumising!’ so I had to either be the first one to get ready or not do my makeup at all.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m comfortable in not doing my makeup, but I had to apply sunblock and at least fill in my brows and slap on a lip balm. But still, that would take some time. So I guess, my point is that, don’t bring a ton of stuff you know you wont be able to use in the end. Otherwise you’ll just get overwhelmed like me. And if you have kikay friends (like me) it’ll just entice them to apply makeup as well which will just add more time, I guess (although I love having those kikay bondings, if I do say so myself :P)

Though seriously, don’t take it from me. I’m not the best person in giving these types of advices. I’m always a makeup hoarder and I will always end up bringing tons of stuff. Even if I already know this, I might pretend to ignore it in the end. Silly me

How about you? What are your beach/summer makeup essentials? Do let me know through the comments below. I would love to hear your thoughts.
