It’s been a long time since I did an FOTD and to be quite honest I find that I really don’t do this much in my blog. I mostly stick to reviews and unboxings (which I don’t do as often anymore) so I thought I should do more of these and a couple of new stuffs.

Anyway, for this week’s FOTD, (yes, I will do a weekly FOTD, I’m going to challenge myself to come up with more of these, Aja! ^_^) I would like to feature one of my favorite palettes to date. The Sleek iDivine Sunset Palette. This palette is my favorite because it challenges me to come up with more combinations. It does not have any matte shades, so if you need some shades for transition, or to contour your crease, then you’re going to need another palette.

Let’s begin, shall we? Just a heads up, btw. Most if not all of the items that I will be using here are from the drugstore.

For the face, I used the Quick FX No-Shine Mattifier as my base/primer. If you guys have been following me for a while you’ll know that I’ve been using this primer for such a while and I’ve been loving it so far. Then for my foundation, I used the L’oreal Le Teint True Match Super Blendable Liquid Foundation (N4). I lah-ove this fondie. I love the other True Match foundation but I must say, I love this even more. Tbqh, I cannot differentiate the two yet but I find myself reaching for this a lot more than my other fondies. It evens out my skintone and it gives me the finish that I’m really REALLY obsessed with.

To conceal my imperfections, I used the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer (Creamy Beige). I’m not yet sure what I feel towards this concealer. But so far I’ve been using it to cover up some redness, marks and broken capillaries that my fondie wasn’t able to cover. For my under eye area, I use my Flormar Perfect Coverage Liquid Concealer (02) and I love it. It has the perfect consistency for my under eye area. It doesn’t crease nor does it cake up.

To set my base makeup, (I actually do this after I’m done with my eye makeup) I used my L’Oreal Mat BB Veil (G1). I’ve been really loving this product to the point that I’ve been using this to set all of my liquid makeup. It’s very finely milled and I’m impressed at how it keeps my face shine-free. It doesn’t offer that much coverage but I’m definitely cool with that since as I’ve mentioned, I use it to set my makeup.

For the eyes, brows and lashes, let’s divide this into three parts, shall we?

For my brows – I used my Jazzy Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel (EK02). I actually have a love-hate relationship with this product. Srsly. Then I topped it off with the Nichido Tinted Brow Gel (Brunette). I love, love, love this. It’s very inexpensive yet it works so well. It’s opaque and it works just like most of my previous brow gels. If you’re looking for budget brow gels, then try this one. You won’t be disappointed.

For my eyeshadow – Let’s start with the base first. I started applying my all-time fave drugstore eyeshadow base, my Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base. I like using this to even out the color of my eyelids. I know that sounds weird but it’s almost opaque so you’re not only making your eyeshadows a bit more vibrant, you’re also covering up let’s say some redness, dark areas in your eyelids, etc. Then as a base for my main eye look, I used my Maybelline Color Tattoo in ‘Inked in Pink’. It’s a beautiful pink cream eyeshadow that can either act as your base or can be your eyeshadow alone.

Then for my eye look, I used a total of 5 shades, almost the entire second row (I know that’s a lot but it doesn’t look like it, really). Unfortunately, the shades in the Sunset palette does not have any name for some reason. So I’ll just refer to them by numbers 1-5, right to left.

(Sadly here in this photo, it’s actually left to right. Apologies for the confusion;
L-R: Shades #1-5)

I applied shade #1 at the sides of my lid, leaving the middle part empty for shades #2 & #3. I used my middle finger to mix those two shades, then patted them gently onto the middle of my eyelids. Then I blended all of those shades using a clean, fluffy blending brush. After that, I used a smaller blending brush to apply shade #4 on to my crease as my transition color. Then, for my outer V-area, I applied the last shade #5, using a smaller blending brush for definition (yes, smaller than the one that I used to apply shade.

Above is the finished look. I told you, it’s not as dramatic. Oh, I used my pressed powder to highlight my brows, since the palette does not include any cream/champagne shades.

For my eyeliner & mascara (lashes) – I lined my eyes using my L’Oreal Super Liner then for my winged liner, I used my Pixy Perfect Eyeliner and for my lashes, I used my L’Oreal Manga False Lash Waterproof Mascara.

To contour my cheeks and my nose, my goto product has always been my Sleek Face Contour Kit (Medium) then for my blush, I used my Max Factor Creme Puff Blush (Seductive Pink). To highlight, I just used the highlighter included in my contour kit.

For the lips – I used two of my favorite lip products to date, L’Oreal Lipsticks in Pop Up Pink and Spring Rosette. I’ve been loving L’Oreal lippies lately. They have good formula and pretty nice packaging.

In this photo, I’m using the shade ‘Pop Up Pink’. It’s the perfect Barbie pink shade really suitable for summer. When I look at this lippie, I immediately think about my retro barbie dolls because the color of those dolls resemble this shade perfectly. If you think Mac Candy Yum Yum is your perfect Barbie Pink, think again. This is a bit warmer, so it’s a lot more wearable. If you can’t pull that shade off, I’m positive you can definitely rock this one. Oh, and did I say that these lippies are moisturizing too?

Buuuut if you’re really not a fan of hot pinks, then go with this one. Spring Rosette is a beautiful rosey, MLBB shade. It’s my current goto shade and even my mama’s obsessed with this shade. It’s matte yet it’s not drying. If you’re not into pinks or any bold/out-there colors, then try this one. You won’t be disappointed.

I hope that you enjoyed this FOTD. I went on and became really chatty on this one.. Oops.. promise it wont happen again.

Btw, L’Oreal is having a sale for up to 45% off. Most of the products you saw me using in this post are up for grabs at a lesser price. I would suggest that you take advantage of this sale while it’s still on.

The Great L’oreal Sale will run in all L’oreal Paris counters and retail outlets nationwide from May 1 to 31 2015 only.
