Bloglover

A Fond Farewell...

In April of 2009 I began a blog, with little intention and no real expectation of it leading to anything.
I named it 'Yours Truly' after an inscription I found on a flea market photograph and regularly wrote entries on things which sparked my interest. Over the years the blog became an online journal of sorts, as I shared not only my sartorial evolution, but my friendships, hardships and moments of joy.
Through my blog I was fortunate enough to attend events and meet like-minded individuals - I've been delighted to befriend some fellow bloggers along the way.
I'm happy with everything that has come with Yours Truly, but it would be disingenuous of me to say that my heart is still in it.
A few weeks ago, toothbrush in hand and still dressed in my pyjamas, I had an epiphany of sorts.

The other 'sideline' creative projects that I had been doing throughout this year had gradually become much more important to me. I wanted to invest more time into being behind a camera, working with others and writing with a wider scope than just my own musings.
I increasingly found 'outfit' photos an uncomfortable, forced activity. I craved not being 'the face' of my own creativity. I wanted to photograph others, develop my skills in film photography, listen to other peoples stories, and collaborate on design projects.
Essentially I think I outgrew my blog.

So, I have decided that for now - which is an unknown amount of time - I won't be blogging here on Yours Truly.

I will continue my instagram (yeah...Like I could just give that up!) and any news I have regarding my future creative endeavours will be shared there and through my twitter.

And now the hardest bit to write - because I want you all to know how utterly sincere I am when I say this!

I just want to genuinely thank everyone who stopped by, read, or has enjoyed Yours Truly. Your comments and emails have always been a complete joy to me. I loved hearing your thoughts and encouragements. It was a pleasure meeting people in the street who knew me through my blog. I loved your appreciation for my style-experiments (some of which I wish there wasn't photographic evidence for!)

I also want to thank all the people who have helped with the blog over the years - patiently taking photos of me in front of grotty walls, and understanding my 'necessity' to document every...last...thing...!

You guys are gonna be the bit about blogging that I miss the most, so I hope that wherever my next creative venture takes me, you guys come along for the ride.

Be happy, be healthy and wear whatever makes you feel good.

Love Kerry x

Ps. It's not you, it's me ;-)
