Laura Licata

New Website Released Today!

I’ve been silent on the blog for a few weeks because behind the scenes I was prepping something HUGE!

I had been designing and developing my newest website lauralicata.org (you may have noticed the little link at the top of this blog).

I started the designing back in February and had actually designed the entire site but for some reason refused to officially “launch it”. Something about it just wasn’t sitting right. So last Friday I said, “Today is the day!” and mustered up the determination to get the website ready for the final launch.

Well 3 hours passed and by the end of it I deleted the entire website, even the written content. It was a twist in events that I wasn’t expecting. It was late in the night and my eyes were red and sore from so much screen time. I would go back to the drawing board the next day.

So early Saturday morning I woke up and told myself that I would not leave my computer until the web design was up and ready to go.

I did it! Draft one was on the site (it looked similar but also quite different to this final cut above). Then the next 7 days rolled out like dough. Page by page, piece by piece, tweak by tweak this website was built and now it’s ready to share.

I’m sure there will be tweaks and twists and turns, because a website is never actually ever complete. And if you have been following this blog or my previous nutrition website you would know that I am an avid design changer. Just as I change the furniture around my apartment approximately once every month, I like to make changes to my websites – my virtual homes.

This is a huge accomplishment for me because I had not previously had a home for my virtual assistant or web design work, but didn’t want to create yet another website to add to my slew of ones I already have. Actually the goal was to close down every other website and combine them all in one for major simplicity sake so I can stop managing all the different sites and start focussing on the actual work.

I feel relieved, excited, and now ready to move on to phase 2 of my master plan. Phase 2 that has yet to be defined
