Spinach Smoothie

Some of you might be wondering why there’s a smoothie photo as opposed the normal personal style shots! I’ve decided to occasionally post recipes because I love all things delicious & healthy. I’m not anything like my amazing food blogger brother, but I thought I’d start sharing a few of my favorite recipes (with nutrition facts!).

This smoothie is my go-to lunch or afternoon treat when I have a busy day. It packs almost 30 grams of protein (which is essential for this vegetarian) and you can’t even taste the spinach! Now don’t get me wrong, I love spinach, but I know it sounds kind of strange in a smoothie. All it does is add a pretty color :)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (or vanilla greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 cup ice

Directions:

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
