Designing a Darling Brand: From the Ground Up Floral

There's nothing more important than building and launching a successful brand for yourself. And when I get to work with amazingly badass babes to help them launch (or in this case, relaunch) their brands, I'm completely honored.

My most recent branding client is a former student of mine, Gina. She's a fabulous floral designer and I really, REALLY wish she lived closer to me so I could have her designing floral masterpieces for my home on the regular.

She completely changed her company name and as her end goal is to open a flower & coffee shop all in one, she came up with the darling name, From The Ground Up Floral! And I was beyond pumped when she contacted me to work together.

Now, let's all take a look at what she & I have been working on the last couple weeks!

One of my favorite things ever is making mood boards. I make a mood board for just about everything I work on, even if it's just for my own fun (and no one else sees them). And when Gina & I spent some time working on figuring out what her inspirations were, well it quickly ended up very Kate Spade inspired. Which we all know that I'm always going to be beyond happy about!

From there, my job is to create an entire branded suite of goodies for her to be able to use with this inspiration in mind. And as Gina loved bold colors & patterns, everything floral, and with fun whimsical illustrations thrown in, I knew this was quickly going to become one of my favorite projects ever.

So below is what we came up with during our three weeks of working together:

Her logo was a fun hint at what was to come for her brand, with all of the elements that simply cream "Gina". And with the quirky illustration as a part of her logo, we wanted to continue a string of elements throughout the entire branded suite that fit within that bit of fun.

There's just something about the clean, crisp designs that when paired with hand-done & whimsical illustrations that really sings. It mimics her own creations that are bold, beautiful but also incredibly delicate and breathtaking. Gina and I couldn't be happier with everything!

For the website itself, we wanted to play up that clean, modern and delicate feeling. Her current business aims at creating masterpieces for weddings, events, etc. and so it was important for us to try and funnel her business in that direction. So from the home page, you're given the option to join her mailing list, so you can keep up with her; to check out her blog and to go ahead and book with her! (which, you should totally do.)

And with such stunning photography and even more breathtaking floral works of art, it was important to us both that her work be front and center. The website supports and promotes, but is subtle enough not to overpower her own beauties.

There were quite a few other elements that we did together including a business card, social media images, a printable / downloadable pricing media kit, etc.

I'm beyond excited about this project and to see this well-deserving babe begin her steps to take on the world. If you'd like to pop over and give her website a good look-through, I'm sure she'd appreciate that! Also, it's her birthday today, so make sure to pop over to Facebook and tell her!

But what do you think, darlings? How do you like her new brand? I'd love to hear all about it!

And if you're looking (or know someone who is) for a brand launch or relaunch, let's talk! I'm booking for next month now, so hurry, hurry <3
