Cheerful Daisies Dies for As You See It Challenge #324

cheerful daisies dies for aysi #324

It's Theme Challenge time over at As You See It, and our theme this week, thanks to the lovely Jane, is Wedding cards! Here's the Challenge Banner:

challenge #324
Naturally, my first instinct was to go with the Lifetime of Love bundle, which is specifically a Wedding set and pretty much the only wedding sentiment we have, but I realized very quickly that almost every one would want to use that one, so I needed to have another option! I then thought about doing either a white on white or silver on white card, using flower dies and I couldn't decide between Magnolia Mood dies or Cheerful Daisies dies. As you can see, after trying both out, I ended up with the Cheerful Daisies, because I thought they looked more like a bridal bouquet.

  • I started with a base of Basic White thick cardstock of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".
  • On the card front, I layered a piece of Silver foil, 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Over that, the next layer is Basic White regular cardstock, 5" x 4 3/4", embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • With the Cheerful Daisy dies, I die cut the large 3 daisy combo and then the three layering pieces that correspond to it, all in silver foil. I used glue dots to adhere all of them to the card front and to each other.
  • I also die cut 3 of the ferny foliage in Basic White cardstock and inserted it beneath the daisies in 3 spots, as shown above, using glue dots to secure it.
  • The sentiment is from the Lifetime of Love stamp set and I heat embossed it in silver on white cardstock. I die cut it with one of the label dies from the Unbounded Love die set, and then added a silver foil border, with another of the dies from that die set.
  • The sentiment was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
That procedure sounds so short and sweet, but it actually took me a long time, as I experimented with different dies and labels and ribbons, etc. But I was happy with the result.

Spotlight on Nature & the In Colours for New at SU

new at su banner

Welcome to our May NEW AT SU! Blog Hop! We love to share creative ideas from Stampin' Up! with you. Today we have projects featuring the new 2024 - 2026 In Colours and some products from the new 2024/25 Annual Catalogue! I decided to use all the in colours for 5 separate cards with the same design, but a different In Colour each. I'm using the new Spotlight on Nature bundle, so pretty and such a great set of dies, that I'm sure we'll be using on an ongoing basis.

Here you can see the card design in all of the new In Colours for 2024 - 2026. The colours include Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Summer Splash, Petunia Pop, and Shy Shamrock, in the order you see them in the photo. They are such bright summery colours this time. Which one is your favourite? Here's how I made the card:

peach pie, petunia pop

  • I started with a cardstock base in which ever In Colour I was using, measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
  • I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4", and embossed it with the new So Swirly embossing folder.
  • I cut a piece of 2024-2026 In Colour DSP into 5" x 3" (so I could get two from 1 sheet) and I added it to the Basic White panel, as shown, using Tombo glue.
  • I cut a piece of ribbon in the coordinating In Colour, about 5 3/4" and stretched across the card front about 1" from the bottom, adhering the ends on the back on either side.
shy shamrock

  • Adhere the whole Basic White layer to the card base. I used Tombo.
  • Die cut a circle using the largest Spotlight on Nature Eyelit Die and also a label using the smallest Deckled Rectangle die.
  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the flowers and butterfly images from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set on to the circle as shown. Stamp the sentiment and texture image on to the deckled rectangle label, as shown.
  • Use the appropriate colours of Stampin' Blends Combos to colour in the images and the Light Smoky Slate marker to out line them.
  • Add the circle  and label with dimensionals. Bling up your card with the 2024 - 2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems.
