sold!

While I was sleeping deeply last night, it seems everyone else was shopping! I woke up to the just-launched and already completely sold-out Rokh x H&M collection, which included, woe is me, the extremely cool cropped jacket and skirt, above! Also nearly all snapped up: Loewe Paula's Ibiza collection, the annual 70s'-steeped capsule filled with statement-making  raffia shorts and ruffled totes, below. But not to worry! There's still some gorgeousness up for grabs in COS' Atelier collection such as the perforated leather coat and the hooded fishnet maxi (both below), along with desirables from the latest  JW Anderson x Uniqlo collab, like the cropped white jacket (last pic) and this do-it-all linen wrap skirt! Get on it!

Warm weather typically ushers in easy-breezy dressing but this summer's go-to outfits will be basically effortless, thanks to trending one-and-done, loose-fitting silhouettes. Carla Ferrer, a model and architecture student already basking in 80-degree sunshine in Valenica, Spain, provides a tutorial via recent Instagram snaps, featuring lightweight, drawstring-trousers specifically these and these, striped Sezane shirts (above), crochet button-downs (I also LOVE this and this long-sleeved!) and shorts, simple but statement-making and go-with-everything tank tops and puff-sleeve dresses (Farm Rio and Ulla Johnson--use the code MarlienRentmeester10off for 10% off sitewide!). Summer, here we come!

my taste for lace

If you ever wanted a taste of LA style, I recommend you dine in one of the velvet banquets at Farmshop in Brentwood. The scene is a veritable runway of chic du jour: baseball hats and blazers, capris and pointy-toe flats, leggings and lace. Speaking of, I found my own new lace to fit in with the crowd: H&M's eyelet blazer, above (size up!) and Anthropologie's lovely, below.

summer planning

At Conca del Sogno's pop-up dinner last night, hosted by San Vicente Bungalows, the table conversation naturally ventured into summer travel plans. While my lucky friend is headed to the Italian Riviera--and a meal at the actual famed Nerano beach club--my good fortune is that I can stock my suitcase for summer sojourns today at a discount, thanks to 24S Friends and Family Sale ($200 off $600/$300 off $900. Use the code TAKE100/TAKE200/TAKE300.) I snapped up the Matteau print bikini, above and these Khaite ballerinas. There's actually lots of coveted Khaite on offer, including this iconic tote, belt, and billowy blouse! Also, Miu Miu (below) and Zimmermann! Shop summer style here

weekend vibes

After almost a week of warm (and woefully rare!) LA sunshine, the fog has rolled in this Friday, but still, I'm springing ahead in my shopping, with hot options aplenty: the $69 charm-laden  Zara basket bag, above, the striped one-shoulder River Island, ruffle top, and draped blouse, the Reformation button-down and skirt set, the strapless H&M, the Amanu leather gold bauble sandal, the Petal & Pup short set ($79), the Reformation white sandals and the And Other Stories lilac lovely. Happy Weekend!

intimately involved

While I've tried to navigate the tangled identity of being an identical twin with help from psychology books, I still struggle with what researchers call "dangerous intimacy," or the inability to separate my self from her. I am, for better or worse, always going to be we. This may explain/justify why a few months ago I kept helping myself to her (our?) growing stash of Haven Well Within's signature super-soft pajamas and off-duty clothing. Ever since she started shooting the brand's campaigns a few years ago (including the most recent one, above), she's become hooked on its effortlessly-chic, kick-back-and-get-comfy staples. And, naturally, so have I. While I hope Haven Well Within keeps hiring her--and gifting her product!--I now need to buy my own pieces/nurture my independence as the recently-launched line of intimates crosses the sharing boundary lines! All mine: this, this, this, and this. Perhaps these are the only things we can't share--or maybe now, for my sake, I just won't!

tie it up

Given that I wear my hair up and back pretty much 24/7, I'm all for investing in accessories that change up my look day to day. Enter a new trick up my sleeve --and in my ponytail: this Lelet hair tie (below), now on sale, plus more options here and here.
