On March 31, I underwent a panproctocolectomy to remove the entirety of my large intestine and rectum. This served as a cure for Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic and painful disease marked by inflammation and ulceration of the colon. I will soon undergo a second surgery to remove the ileostomy and connect the ileum to a new, manmade organ called a J-Pouch. The purpose of this blog is to spread awareness of Ulcerative Colitis and to provide support to those suffering from this disease.
