If anyone follows me on Instagram or Twitter (which you should) you might know that I am hip deep into the process of renovating my room. Not just redecorating – renovating. A redecoration implies a new coat of paint, maybe some new bed linens. But this overhaul is much more then that. My room has not been done since I was 9. That was over 12 years ago. It is pink walled, stuffed animal filled, and frilled out beyond belief. And I need a change. So despite the fact that I will not be living there much more then a year, I decided it was time to do some work
Day one consisted of cleaning out the room – 5 donation bags of clothes and shoes, 6 bags of trash, and 2 jumbo bags of stuffed animals (why there were ever so many, we will never know). Day two was researching inspirations, paint colors, organizing my closet and ordering linens. Day three took me to IKEA (holy beautiful) for new dressers and Home Goods where I fell in love.
Now despite my love of country music, I am in no way a country girl. Dirt is gross, trucks are loud, and guns scare me. However I feel head over heels for this new trend of faux taxidermy. Fake animal heads mounted to a wall in lieu of real furry animals.
