NYX Butter Lipstick Swatches and Review
Unless you are living under a rock or don’t care a whit about cosmetics (in which case, why are you reading my blog?) you have probably heard about the NYX Butter Lipsticks by now.
These new lipsticks come in a dazzling array of 22 colors at the moment, surely something for everyone? I was at Ulta the other day and saw them for the first time in person. I promptly directed my step-daughter to fetch me a basket because I knew my hands would be full! I only wound up picking up four because they were lacking in stock at the time, but I am really pleased with the ones I chose.
These lipsticks are full coverage, have a satin finish, feel super creamy and soft, and are non-sticky. They really feel like a supple lip balm on the lips, and are very comfortable and moisturizing.
I found the coverage to be pretty nice. They aren’t crazy pigmented really, more of a nice medium coverage. They give off a nice shine and feel so nice on the lips. A couple of them did settle lightly into lip lines, but you really only notice it in super blown up photos like mine below.

Overall: I had heard nothing but great things about these lipsticks and I am pleased to report I like them! I think they are great for someone who has perpetually dry lips (me) or doesn’t want an incredibly pigmented or matte look. These would also make a great segway into the lipstick world for someone who is used to just lip balm or lip gloss because they have a lighter look and feel. I am especially fond of the shade Razzle because it’s such a pretty bright blue-based pink.
