Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

I finally had time to sit down yesterday and swatch all 36 of the new Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer shades. Whew, that was quite the feat!

This new line features 36 colors and one new Quick Dry Top Coat. These have a great, saturated formula and most were just two coats for complete coverage. The colors range from every day nudes to super rich vampy shades. There are many finishes as well including cream, shimmer, glitter, frost and metallic.

The cost is just $3.99 per shade, and you can find them on Milani’s site as well as CVS stores nationwide.

Pearl

Pearl is light sheer white with pink iridescent shimmer. Since this is classified as a sheer it’s not going to be completely opaque. This was two coats.

Frenchie

Frenchie is a sheer milky white. This is a glossy sheer shade, makes your nails look healthy and nice. This is two coats.

Lady-Like

Lady-Like is a pale pink sheer. You can actually get this shade almost totally opaque in three thin coats, even though it’s a sheer.

Vintage Lace

Vintage Lace is the final sheer shade and it’s a pale nude/pink. This is two coats. It just looks like my nails, but very shiny.

Doll Face

Doll Face is a light bubblegum pink cream. It’s a little on the thick side but two coats covers nicely.

Bombshell

Bombshell is a flamingo pink cream. A nice bright pink and this was two coats.

Cupcake Icing

Cupcake Icing is a lilac/pink cream. Loving this shade, it’s so pretty! This had a great formula and covered in two coats.

Hot Pink Rage

Hot Pink Rage is a hot pink cream. It’s bright, pretty and had a really good formula. This is two coats.

Ultra Violet

Ultra Violet is an intense violet shimmer. This is my favorite one, it’s SOOOO beautiful! This is one of those shades where you apply it and can’t stop staring at your nails. The formula was perfect and creamy and covered in two coats.

Sugar Plum

Sugar Plum is a plummy purple/pink shimmer. This is another really pretty shade and it looks like it’s lit-from-within. Excellent formula, just two coats.

Mauving Forward

Mauving Forward is a deep mauve cream. Not my favorite shade for myself, but it had a great formula and was super creamy and smooth. This was nearly just one coat but I used two.

Lovely Amethyst

Lovely Amethyst is a super frosty pale purple. In a word: ICK. This was so incredibly frosty and streaky. Avoid this one at all costs unless you are going to an 80′s party! This was two coats.

Mint Crush

Mint Crush is a light mint green creme. This one actually borders on being a pale green/light blue but it’s super pretty and very flattering on me. The formula was on the thicker side but covers in two coats.

Tattle Teal

Tattle Teal is a medium, bright teal cream. Excellent color and formula! This was two thin coats and from what I remember, it seems like a very unique teal from others I have.

Water Front

Water Front is a bright sky blue cream. Another gorgeous blue! This covered in two coats and had a really great formula.

Peri-Wink

Peri-Wink is a light periwinkle with slight shimmer. I am in love with this color, but the formula wasn’t perfect. It was on the thicker side and I did need three coats. I got a little carried away with the thickness when I applied it, as you can tell on my pointer finger. Lovely though.

Blue Print

Blue Print is a bright cobalt blue cream. Delicious! I love adding another cobalt blue to my collection. This dries a little bit flat looking but a top coat shines it right up. Great formula, this was just two coats.

Ink Spot

Ink Spot is a super dark ink blue cream. It nearly looks black, but not quite. Great formula, it’s super opaque and easy to apply. This was two coats.

Spotlight White

Spotlight White is a white cream. It’s not a stark white but has a slightly softer look to it. For a white it covered pretty good with two coats, but it is a little thick.

Bronze

Bronze is a light bronze metallic. This actually looks like a bronze/rose gold to my eye. It’s metallic and definitely rather brush-stroke-y. Love the color but the brush strokes drive me nuts. This was two thin coats.

Pink Beige

Pink Beige is a light pink/beige cream. Hmm, not a color I would normally wear but it had a decent formula. This was two coats.

Silhouette

Silhouette is a medium khaki green with silver shimmer. LOVE! Beautiful color and amazing formula. It was smooth, creamy and perfect with two coats. This reminds me a lot of Sonia Kashuk Fatigued, but I think this has a slightly better formula.

Corrupted Coral

Corrupted Coral is a bright coral cream. Great summer shade though it was a wee bit uneven with just two coats on me.

Mango Tango

Mango Tango is a vivid orange/red cream. Great shade and really nice, creamy formula. This was two coats.

Red Label

Red Label is a bright classic red cream. This has a really thin, good formula, but covers completely with two thin coats.

Modern Rouge

Modern Rouge is just slightly deeper than Red Label, but it’s another red cream with a good formula. This was two coats.

Iconic Red

Iconic Red is a deep red cream. Another one with a good formula and it covered in two coats.

Ruby Stone

Ruby Stone is a ruby red shimmer. Beautiful shade, this reminds me of fall and the Christmas holidays. Loved this formula, it was great and covered with two coats. It looks like it’s glowing.

Enchanting

Enchanting is the perfect red cream vampy varnish. Really though it’s suuuper dark, and I was amazed at the even coverage with just two coats. Usually I have to use three coats for very dark reds, but not this one. So glossy!

Gilded Rocks

Gilded Rocks has gold micro-glitter and medium pink hexagonal glitter in a clear base. This is so filled with glitter though you could do three thin coats and it’s basically full-coverage. Really pretty glitter!

Rainbow Prisms (over Enchanting)

Rainbow Prisms features various sized silver holographic glitter in a clear base. This one is best layered since it’s sheer by itself. This is one coat over Enchanting.

Club Lights

Club Lights features various sizes of pink glitter in a clear base. This one doesn’t cover quite as completely as Gilded Rocks, so you might want to use it layered. This is two coats.

Gold Plated

Gold Plated is a light C3PO gold shimmery metallic. Excellent color, great formula. This was two coats.

Crimson Jewel

Crimson Jewel is a deep red with lots of red glitter. I love this shade, it’s so festive looking! It dries a little dull but shines up with a top coat.

Also I don’t have a photo of the new Quick Dry Top Coat but have been using it and really liking it so far. It’s not too thick, it’s self-leveling and super shiny. It dries really quickly and I’ve noticed it’s great for nail art as well because it didn’t smear the design on my nails when I used it a few minutes after doing some dots and lines.

What do you see here that you will be hunting down?
