Where are the weeks of our long lost summer running away to at such a pace that we can't quite keep up. Feel like I have accomplished everything and nothing. Each time I blink an hour or two is getting away from me, as I spend frivolous amounts of time doing little beyond the boundaries of procrastination.
Admittedly I have acquired a sense of urgency to gather and home make in preparation for moving to university in what is now only a month's time. Frantically crossing off lists as I build a collection of items that may or may not see me through my time away from the family home. I feel forgetful despite hoarding what seems like endless 'stuff' into a little pile against a wall in my room, awaiting moving day. My university also requires that I purchase a number of items from a list of photography based things as well as some books. All of which is seeing my funds diminish at frightening speeds. But I am excited.
I also found out this past week that I not only passed my Level 3 photography course but also got a grade A for the English GCSE I worked towards over 27 lessons that I studied at my local Adult Education center. I regrettably walked out of school as a naive, distressed 15 year old with only a year to go, taking up the rest of my education via home study. I was stranded by every education authority (school and council) and had no contact from anyone who was meant to help me finish the GCSEs I had already made my way half way through. Due to this, as you can already guess, resulted in myself not being given the opportunity to attain not even a single qualification. Taking just one of the GCSE's I missed out on as a teenager has always been important to me, it took all my courage to enroll on the course above at the age of 24 and I'm really proud that I did. And pride is a terribly rare but fine thing.
