My Happiness Project Update // September

Back in August I shared some things that I wanted to change in my life, aka My Happiness Project. Most of you know that my life has been crazy busy with Portland this and Portland that. haha However, in the back of my mind I'm always remembering the goals I set for myself to feel overall happier. :)

My first goal for September was: Be nice to Cody, always
What this really meant to me was to always think before I spoke. Instead of "nagging", just ask myself, "Is this worth really being mad about?" I'm already really good about this considering that we have been together for over eleven years now. (Apparently we are doing something right!) We also spent what I considered quality time together during the month of September. The above photo was taken during a trip to a new kitchen gadget store we had never been to before. When Cody stumbled upon all the coffee items it was like Christmas morning for him! Even with all the stress in our lives right now, we are still taking time to just enjoy an afternoon together and just be us.

Overall, I think I did pretty good with paying attention to my behavior towards Cody. This is something I plan to do every day, it wasn't just a September thing. haha It's just all about watching your tone when you talk, learning what not to say, and remembering to give extra hugs. I got this! ;)

Well, I did better. I was so behind on this, that I had to play catch up first before I could even get to the newer photos. My iphone was pushing it's limit on photo storage and I had multiple folders of pictures to go through on my computer. I did get everything sorted out and organized finally. Funny thing was, it didn't take hardly any time at all. I thought it was going to take days, but it was only a few hours during an afternoon. Once I just took the time to focus on the project, I finally was able to get it under control.

This month I have struggled to keep up again due to my traveling to Portland. I plan to just take a few hours to get caught up again. I think once life settles down for me, I will be able to select a few days a month to upload images. It may seem crazy to some people that this is even "a thing" for me. haha I take a lot of pictures. Moving to Portland is only going to increase this. I even have plans to make some photo books!

My goals for October are: Taking care of business & Stop being negative.
