Magazine Inspired Fall Fashion

Magazines are definitely one of the main places I go to for outfit inspiration, only second to Pinterest (of course). They are always the first place I find out about new trends and what’s going to be “in” for the coming season. I love trying to recreate outfits I see on Pinterest or on the street or in magazines- though sometimes fashion in magazines is a bit too “high fashion” for me. I like to put my own spin on this and turn what I see in a magazine into something wearable in the real world.
My most favorite go-to magazine for style ideas is definitely Elle. The September issue was their biggest issue ever and it was packed full of ideas and fall outfit inspiration. It’s no secret that fall is by far my most favorite season to dress for (hello- layers, scarves, boots!!!) and I got so many great ideas for the upcoming cool weather from this month’s Elle magazine. I also grabbed InStyle (another fave) along with my Elle magazine when I was in Target, because Target is currently running an awesome promotion: when you buy a combination of any two fall fashion magazines (InStyle, Elle and/or Vogue), you get a $5 Target gift card (only until Sept 13, so hurry!). That is a sweet deal if you ask me.
This simple summer-to-fall transitional outfit was inspired by all the cozy knits in the two magazines I purchased. Wearing sweaters is one of my most favorite things about fall and this light knit is perfect for the cooler evenings were finally having.
