A visit to Emily Oaks Nature Center

A March morning is only as drab as he who walks in it without a glance skyward, ear cocked for geese. -Aldo Leopold
This quote, found on a monument at Emily Oaks Nature Center, is from American author, scientist and environmentalist Aldo Leopold. It couldn't have been more fitting for our March visit. The sun was shining while we walked the grounds of Emily Oaks for the first time, but sure enough, there were birds flying overhead. Emily Oaks Nature Center is located in Skokie, Il. We've never been before, but it was a beautiful spring day so we had to take advantage of the weather.
