Plastic Fantastic

I don’t want you to visualize the infamous S&M uniforms while I confess I love pvc clothes. rather the 60s trend of futuristic fashion. That was the start of new designs made from plastic promoted also through the names of Yves Saint Laurent, Andrè Courrèges and Jean Paul Gaultier who experimented with the material and gave us some pretty iconic looks. The future is now, but we aren’t going around in PVC catwoman suits as people from the 60s would have imagined fashion in 2014. We are still wearing PVC the same way it was designed 55 yeas back, in dresses skirts and rain coats. And just like in the 60s a PVC skirt or top is looked with curiosity and I get more questions about this skirt than any other piece of my wardrobe. 55 years of a trend and people still can’t accept it as an ordinary material from which beautiful design can be created.
