Winter Beauty Favorites

It’s officially winter here in Chicago and my skin is not happy. There is not enough lotion in the world to combat the dryness that comes with cold temps and I’ve learned over the past few seasons how important it is to invest in products that can keep my skin protected, hydrated, and looking good {most important!} all day long. I recently had the opportunity to try out Charlotte Tilbury’s new line of products which really made me slim down the number of products I was using each day. As important as it is to make sure my skin is moisturized, I never want me makeup to feel heavy so I wanted to share an updated winter beauty routine that has been working for me!

Like I’ve said before, I am no beauty buff. Extremely far from it, actually. I don’t wear eyeshadow and only add color in my lipstick {this is my new favorite, so moisturizing!!} but all of these items make for the perfect base to any look! Get the details below…

1. Peter Thomas Roth Un Wrinkle Peel Pads – I use one of these at night and also when I get out of the shower in the morning {note: it might take you a week to build up to using them that much, depending on your skin type}. It is basically a 1-minute facial peel that helps to remove all of the dead skin/uneven-ness that builds up when your skin is dry. Not only that but they are also packed with vitamins to help clarify the skin! I always like to make sure my skin is smooth and even before adding on layers of makeup and this is the easiest and fastest way to get glowing skin at home!

2. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – I swear this stuff is not only incredibly moisturizing but it is like caffeine for your skin. The first time I tried it, I swear it looked like I already had already applied my foundation and powder. It immediately evens out your skin tone, provides enough moisture to last all day, and gives your face a boost of energy. Charlotte has specific instructions about how to apply so I highly recommend reading up on this product here. It’s amazing!

3. Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow – Another new to my product that has completely elevated my beauty routine. This is a moisturizing illuminating cream that I put on before any of my makeup! It goes on under my foundation and provides a back glow to my entire face. A new favorite that helps to brighten and enhance the rest of my makeup.

4. Bare Minerals Original Foundation – In the summer I tend to use a sheer moisturizing foundation but in the winter I prefer a powder to really seal in the moisture that I’ve already applied. This also goes on super evenly and seems to stay on all day long without any touchups.

5. Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener – With winter comes pale{er} skin and darker shadows under the eyes. This stuff is a miracle worker and is the fastest way to feel bright and refreshed!

6. Bobbie Brown Pout Rouge for Cheeks & Lips – I prefer a creme blush in the winter because it provides a more dewy glow rather than a matte finish {anything to hold onto those sun kissed cheeks!}. It is so easy to keep in my purse if I ever need a quick touchup for my cheeks and lips. A perfect stocking stuffer for your favorite ladies!

7. Clinique Brow Keeper – I have to thank my dad for blessing me with enormously large, furry eye brows. I have grown to love them as I get older but they require a lot of maintenance and grooming. This pencil helps to maintain their shape and fullness between waxing and can really elevate my look! A opt for a heavier brow on night’s out and a lighter look for daytime. The brush at the end makes it easy to try both.

8. Bare Minerals Curl & Lengthen Mascara – This mascara is a game changer. I don’t know about you but if I was stranded on a desert island with only one beauty product I would always choose mascara. However, my eyes are really sensitive to mascara {if I don’t take it off completely at night, I will make up and my eyes will be swollen shut – seriously}. I was always a fan of Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara {it’s amazing!} but it’s a little too heavy for my sensitive eyes. After being introduced to Bare Minerals Curl & Lengthen Mascara I can obtain the length and curl that I want but without the weight! This stuff is so light sometimes I forget that I’m wearing it.

9. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Pencil – Fake it until you make it, people! This stuff is magic. I never ever use a lip pencil but when a makeup artist at Nordstrom applied this to my lips I literally looked like a different person. The color I use is Pillow Talk which is almost identical to my natural lip color and makes it easy to cheat the natural line of your lips to make them appear more full! I used this lip gloss on top for a natural look but it can also be used as a line for your favorite red lip color to draw big beautiful lips right on top.

And that’s that! The perfect base to any holiday look or for everyday. You can shop all of these items below…
