Today, instead of a regular Monday desk love post, I'm sharing an office-love post. I attended the opening converge of the
San Francisco Design Week last Friday and got a chance to do a private tour of the
Airbnb headquarters where the event was hosted. While everyone was mingling, my friend Esther and I decided to take the elevator to have an upper view of the main floor. And lucky us, we started chatting with someone in the elevator who happened to be an
Airbnb employee. He opened a secured door for us and invited us to sneak in. So we did! I apologize for the iPhone image quality, but I really did not expect to be taking inside pictures that evening.
Airbnb;s building is a giant renovated warehouse atrium with upper offices going all around the main lobby. The offices are divided between open spaces and little aisles that are organized as private rooms. The genius here is that the private rooms are designed to look like an
Airbnb rental apartment in different cities in the world, making it way more cosy than a regular conference room. I was very surprised to discover the interior of Zoe de Las Cases in the Paris room. It looks identical to the
house tour I posted a few years ago here on the blog.
Overall,
Airbnb's offices are fresh, colorful, hip and very inviting. I could totally picture myself working in such a unique environment and wouldn't mind doing extra hours. Oh, did I mention it's also a dog friendly office?
