Budget Approved Purchase: It’s Gonna Bead Me Necklace

It’s almost the weekend and it’s safe to say that it’s almost September as well. Can you believe it?! And since we are all getting into the campfires and s’mores mood around the blogosphere, I have lots of lovely things planned to post in the near future. I’ve actually made a list to hold myself to it– don’t let me slack you guys!

Today, I wanted to show you guys a versatile, little bauble that I found in the sale section at ModCloth for only $16.99! Their It’s Gonna Bead Me (Justin Timberlake approved lol) Necklace is a wonderful pick-me-up for your transition into an autumn wardrobe. Just take a look at the photos below… I love the mix of seafoam and jade greens with more neutral elements and gold hardware. Easy to pair and even easier on the wallet!

Statement necklaces are being seen more and more as the only accessory needed to complete an otherwise simple look. Companies like, BaubleBar and Kate Spade show this on their websites, when the model is wearing an uncomplicated, single colored top to accentuate the beauty of the jewelry. I’ve tried to do the same when styling the outfit below. However, I did put in addition accessories to complete the look.

I wanted to keep the fabrics relatively light since the season isn’t full blown and in most of the USA it’s still warm enough to wear shorts this time of year. So I chose a cotton tank w/ minimal lace detailing towards the bottom, so as not to detract from the necklace itself. Since it’s spaghetti strapped and I’m going for more of a casual late summer look, I layered a light wash chambray button up over top. I would, of course, roll up the sleeves to make it seem even more laid back. The featured khaki/peach colored shorts are a cotton blend so, very breathable and wearable. Plus, the pleated texture gives them a bit more of a “grown up”, girly vibe, especially if you are headed out to do something fun.

I adore the fun details like close-toed espadrilles that have been extremely popular this year. This pair in clean black and white leave nothing to be desired. A quirky wristwatch and flowered backpack (I am LOVING backpacks for fall carry-alls) give the overall ensemble some fun and charm without going over the line. Top it all over with a matte gloss in deep red and you’re set for a good time!
