Boston Pizza Foundation $5 Kids Cards Are Back! #Charity #Giveaway CAN, 10/10

There have been a few times in my life where an event has really affected me to the core. Besides the creation of my Family, there was an epiphany when I was 28, not having water for 36 days in Mexico and last week I added wanting to change the world to the list.

With respect to this last one, I’ve decided to focus on ways in which I can use my influence to support worthy causes and this latest one, the Boston Pizza Foundation caught my attention. Not only because it supports the most vulnerable; our Kids, funds research for diabetes of which affects several of my family members, but also because I can make a small donation and receive something in exchange that I will use and enjoy. A real WIN-WIN.

Positive Role Models and Mentors Change Lives

In 2014, the Boston Pizza Foundation created Future Prospects to order to support youth in Canadian communities through organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kids Help Phone, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and Live Different. Their annual fundraiser for “Kids Cards” raised over $615,000 last year alone! That’s a lot of kids meals in the name of charity.

And the best part is that you can be involved.

From now until November 2, in exchange for a minimum $5 donation, you will receive a card valid for FIVE Kids Meals valued at $35. So, for $5 you receive $35 worth of product. If you register your card, you will receive an extra meal so that makes 6 in total*. That’s three family meals where The Kids (pretty much) eat for FREE and with leftovers to take home. Math wasn’t my strong suit but that’s a definite WIN-WIN!

I’ve enjoyed the hospitality of Boston Pizza several times, once with Cathy (more on her in a minute) and another time as a Family. Both times, we have been extremely pleased with the food, service and the kid-friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. As they were seating us, they brought crayons and colouring books and drinks arrived with straws (of course)! I think the thing that really sealed it for me was when we ordered just one ice cream (some would say we were just asking for a tantrum) but they brought it in two bowls with two spoons and double the sprinkles too. That made for two happy kids and Adults too!

If you’re looking for a no fuss way to spend time out as a Family, stop by Boston Pizza and let them take care of you. The great news is that it doesn’t have to break the bank, you can support others at the same time, they have gluten-free options (review by Carla) and did I mention that they have a Chocolate Doughcano…

So, in the spirit of giving, Boston Pizza wants to give FIVE people a Kids Card. But that’s not all because Cathy from Cathy Thinking Out Loud is also hosting a 5 Card giveaway** and in the next few weeks we’ll be hosting a Twitter Party with even more great prizes!
