STYLE | Layered Up

You ever just NEED to get out of the house? I feel like we’ve been running errands and fixing up the apartment every. single. weekend. So finally this weekend I told Q we’d be getting out and doing something that had nothing to do with chores. So went out to Columbus Circle and discovered a new Thai spot.

I kept it casual in an AYR sweater, flannel top and skinny jeans. I like this look: it’s a great way to wear layers without looking bulky. I tried to be fancy and curl my hair (I just had it cut into layers last week), but it was windy out, and I haven’t really nailed the whole curling hair with a flat iron thing, so…

GET THE LOOK | ‘The Illusion’ sweater: AYR (featured in this post) // skinny jeans: H&M // plaid shirt: c/o Paige Denim (similar here) // booties: Urban Outfitters (I also have these)

It’s getting cold out there. I was out of my coat, scarf and mittens for only about 10 minutes, and I couldn’t wait to put everything back on. Thai food was a good idea. We had soup and red curry and I got what I always get (chicken pad see ew). Then we had enough energy to do some browsing at Columbus Circle. I stepped into H&M for the first time in months. I bought jewelry (there’s some cute stuff there!) and the same jeans I’m wearing in these photos, just in gray…and one size smaller.

I’m probably smaller because I worked out to get ready for the wedding, but I’m not good at being consistent with exercise. At all (I haven’t worked out since the wedding). I really want to get better about staying fit and doing consistent exercise. I’m starting a new fitness routine this week that should make me more flexible (I’m pretty sure my Grandma is more flexible than I am) and strengthen my core, and I’m hoping it will be easier to be consistent because I can do a lot of the work at home! That’s pretty clutch, because I hate going to the gym when it’s cold out. I’ll share more on the blog soon…

Happy Monday!
